Police: Shooting at Pro-Trump Rally Becomes Standoff in Los Angeles

https://www.breitbart.com/crim...tandoff-los-angeles/

Three suspects were surrounded by law enforcement Sunday following an alleged shooting during a pro-Trump caravan rally in Woodland Hills.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) SWAT Team surrounded the suspects who were barricaded inside an apartment complex, according to Patch.com.

“Police responded to a report of gunshots at a caravan rally in support of President Donald Trump in the 20600 block of Ventura Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. No one was wounded in the shooting,” the report said.

Officer Drake Madison of the LAPD said Ventura Boulevard was shut down for hours, adding that it was “still a fluid situation.”

The building where the suspects were located was locked down and all nearby apartments evacuated, according to NBC Los Angeles.

At 4:30 p.m., reporter Emily Valdez tweeted video footage of LAPD vehicles and a helicopter overhead and said a tire on a vehicle in the caravan was shot out:

Bullet hole in tire and a photo of a rifleman but it is really confusing. Boy the media is downplaying this one.

Confusion after LAPD responds to reports of gunfire at pro-Trump car caravan

https://www.latimes.com/califo...at-trump-car-caravan

A car caravan of President Trump supporters parading down Ventura Boulevard turned chaotic Sunday as Los Angeles police searched for three people who might have been involved in an incident connected to the event.

No one was hurt at the rally, and police were still trying to determine exactly what happened.

Authorities were searching for three people in Woodland Hills after police received reports that one of them may have fired some type of weapon at the caravan. It was unclear whether there was physical evidence of gunfire or if the reports were based solely on witness accounts.

Police received a report that a man was firing at the caravan as it traveled along Ventura Boulevard near Chalk Hill Court shortly before 11:30 a.m, said Officer Will Cooper of the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident was initially described as someone brandishing a firearm and throwing bottles at the vehicles but was later updated to include a report of shots fired, he said.

The caravan, composed of cars displaying pro-Trump flags, was heading from Woodland Hills to Studio City.

A woman who was driving east on Ventura past the procession heard what sounded like gunshots and noticed her tire went flat, Los Angeles police said in a news release. When she inspected it, she found it had been damaged by a projectile, possibly a bullet or a bullet fragment, police said.

Another witness told police there was a potential suspect in a nearby apartment building, prompting officers to lock down the Ventura Boulevard complex and evacuate the units.

Jorge Rodriguez, deputy chief of the LAPD Valley Bureau, said the department obtained a photo of a man with a rifle on the balcony of an apartment unit. It’s unclear what kind of rifle he was holding.

Cooper said the alleged assailant and two others barricaded themselves inside the building in the 20500 block of Ventura Boulevard.

About 4 p.m., a SWAT unit entered the apartment unit but found no one inside, said Josh Rubenstein, an LAPD spokesman. Before making entry, officers launched a chemical irritant into the unit to try to flush out any occupants, he said.

Detectives were at the scene collecting evidence to help find the suspects. Only one of the three is being sought as a potential shooter, Rubenstein said. The others were believed to have been inside the unit when the incident was reported.

Deputy Chief Jorge Rodriguez said the LAPD is conducting a search warrant at the apartment and that men were seen fleeing the scene.

“It was not a BB,” he said. “It was possibly a .22 caliber, .25 caliber weapon based on the evidence at the car.”

Residents in the area said the police standoff was unnerving, but they were not sure whether there was a shooting.

A helicopter hovered above Tina Johnson’s apartment complex as she went to the pool for a quick swim.

She had heard that police were investigating a shooting nearby but didn’t realize how close. Then the leasing manager warned her there was a shooter barricaded in the building next door.

Johnson and her boyfriend returned to their apartment and locked the doors and windows.

“It’s kind of surreal,” Johnson, 23, said. In liberal California, she had “never met a Trump supporter.”

But now, here they were, a caravan with Trump flags waving on the back of their pickup trucks cruising down Ventura Boulevard.

The sight and the subsequent confrontation seemed like something that might happen in the South, but not here.

“We wouldn’t have ever imagined it would happen in California,” Johnson said.

Skyrocketing demolition costs for riot-damaged Minneapolis, St.. Paul properties delay rebuilding

Dozens of owners whose Twin Cities properties were severely damaged in the May riots have been stunned to discover that the money they would collect from their insurance company for demolition won’t come close to the actual costs of doing the job.

Looked very, very clear to me as well. Esp. with the past firearms charges and his idiotic social media posts.

I can't imagine the PDX cops didn't run over there for a chat and maybe a firearms residue test, or two.

Doncha just love those democrats.

Perhaps a review of insurance and what is actually covered is warranted for business and personal property.

Yes, but using airport abbreviations to refer to cities shows how aware (rather than “woke”) and well-traveled one is, plus it saves maybe a half-dozen or keystrokes for people who are too busy to type out the entire name. Roll Eyes

Several businesses here in the St. Louis area learned that after Ferguson. Who really expects to loose their business to rioters? As a result of that, who's really thinking about the insurance coverage they would need to rebuild after rioters destroy their business?

Combine all of this with the other economic issues caused by Wuhan, and you may see many of these businesses simply remain closed and never return.

putting this part first:

Reinoehl had been arrested by Portland Police on July 5 at 2:10 am in the downtown area where Antifa has been actively protesting for more than 3 months. When he was arrested he was found to be in possession of a handgun. He was charged by Portland Police with possessing a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, and interfering with police.

But no charges were filed by District Attorney Michael Schmidt and the case was dismissed on July 30 with a “No Complaint” entry

https://www.redstate.com/shipw...rged-by-portland-da/

48 year old Michael Forest Reinoehl has been identified by his family as the person in several videos and still images of the suspected killer of Aaron Danielson, a member of “Patriot Prayer”, a pro-Trump organization located in the Pacific Northwest.

The person in the video and still images is wearing a distinctive vest with tactical webbing over a white shirt and has a prominent neck tattoo. The possible identity of the person was first put out on “4Chan” based on the work of several “internet sleuths” looking at images of Antifa members known to be in and around Portland.

Based on that tentative identity, an anonymous caller telephoned Reinoehl’s sister in Sandy, Oregon, where Reinoehl was raised and threatened his family if Reinoehl did not turn himself in. His sister was scared by the caller and called the Sandy Police Department. She then went to the internet to watch the video and look at the images. Shortly thereafter she called Portland Police Department and reported that the person in the video and images thought to be the shooter was her brother Michael Reinoehl.

Various news reports today have mischaracterized the circumstances of the shooting — most notably Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler — by claiming it was connected to the pro-Trump caravan of cars that went through downtown Portland earlier on Saturday evening. At the time of the shooting the caravan had already left downtown, traffic was flowing against as it normally would, and Danielson was walking by himself. Apparently he was identified by virtue of the “Patriot Prayer” hat he was wearing, and a voice can be heard on one video shouting “ We’ve got a Trumper over here .”

Within moments an individual in a distinctive vest over a white teeshirt shot Danielson in the chest

Note there are no vehicles from the caravan earlier in the evening, and no pro-Trump flags. Danielson was alone walking on the street when the shooter walked up to him.

What is most outrageous beyond the fact of the shooting is that Reinoehl had been arrested by Portland Police on July 5 at 2:10 am in the downtown area where Antifa has been actively protesting for more than 3 months. When he was arrested he was found to be in possession of a handgun. He was charged by Portland Police with possessing a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, and interfering with police.

But no charges were filed by District Attorney Michael Schmidt, and the case was dismissed on July 30 with a “No Complaint” entry, which I interpret to mean the District Attorney’s Office did not file a criminal complaint in response to the arrest supported by probable cause. The Oregonian obtained a statement from a spokesman for DA Schmidt’s office claiming the July case against Reinoehl was still under review. Mr. Danielson’s family will be glad to know that I’m sure.

This is the same DA Michael Schmidt who announced publicly on August 11 that his office would “presumptively decline to prosecute cases where the most serious offense is a city ordinance violation or where the crime(s) do not involve deliberate property damage, theft or the use or threat of force against another person.”

It is being reported that Schmidt only took office on August 1, after the Reinoehl’s case was handled, but that is not true. Schmidt was elected to the position on May 19, running as a progressive candidate who promised to end “cash bail” and hire a dedicated “hate crimes” prosecutor. Even though he had previously been a prosecutor in the office, the union that represents the 75 deputy prosecutors endorsed his opponent. After Schmidt’s victory, and recognizing the changes he was promising to bring to the office — his predecessor resigned on June 16, just two weeks after rioting had started in downtown Portland, and six weeks before Schmidt was scheduled to take office.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown swore Schmidt into office early, and he took over on July 7. This was two days after Reinoehl’s arrest, and more than three weeks before the matter was dismissed by his office.

Video images of the fatal shooting captured a tall, thin white man in a hat and white tube socks running from the scene. The images showed a distinctive tattoo the man’s neck, and Reinoelh has a tattoo similar in appearance to the fuzzy image from the images.

In an interview with the Oregonian, Reinoehl’s sister told the outlet that he has been estranged from his family, including her, for more than three years. “… this whole thing surprises the daylights out of us, because we always thought he is a lot of bark, not a lot of bite,” she said. “But he’s also been very impulsive and irrational.”

Reinoehl is wanted on a failure to appear warrant in a June 8 speed racing case in Baker County in eastern Oregon. He also faces allegations including driving under the influence of a controlled substance, recklessly endangering another, unlawful possession of a gun and driving while suspended and uninsured.

On social media, he posted on June 16, “Every Revolution needs people that are willing and ready to fight"

District Attorney Michael Schmidt

"Real Justice PAC, also co-founded by Shaun King, has supported 29 head prosecutors and state attorneys general since 2018, including several who were also backed by Soros, such as Gardner, Boudin, Rollins and Becton. The organization is also backing the 2020 campaigns of Foxx and 13 other candidates seeking office.

The organization's goals include electing – and recruiting – candidates who would make changes to criminal justice systems such as ending cash bail and “rolling back practices that lead to mass incarceration.”

One 2020 candidate Real Justice succeeded in getting elected already is Multnomah County, Ore., District Attorney Mike Schmidt, who will be in a key position when he takes office on Aug. 1, given that his jurisdiction includes Portland, where riots have been taking place amid months of protests following Floyd’s death.

Schmidt has said that he would potentially drop charges against nonviolent protesters when he is in office, according to local NBC affiliate KGW."

Isn't there some superseding and compelling FEDERAL jurisdiction for hate crime or sedition or some other option that gets this guy in federal custody ?

That's what we need. The Antifa crowd need to be Federally prosecuted and in Federal custody. IMHO

Pull the 501(c)3 status of the Ford Foundation and others that fund Antifa, BLM, and other such groups exposing and committing violence.

Foundation With Biden Campaign Ties Funding Leftist Agitators On U.S. Streets

While activists Ford funds desecrate cities and terrorize regular folks, the foundation gives millions to the ‘Defund the Police’ movement.

Last Sunday, the site of the Republican National Convention in Charlotte witnessed a night of violence leading to at least five arrests. Since Friday, Black Lives Matter activists terrorized the Queen City, including beating police officers, in an effort to intimidate GOP attendees and business owners.

By contrast, the Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee brought only a small gathering of peaceful activists, who declared: “We decided that it would make sense for us to make the emphasis of our action the one point of unity that deals with police crimes.”

Here we have a real “tale of two cities.” To understand the disparity of these two convention host cities separated by only a week, let’s examine some financiers of organizations fomenting the riots now taking place across the country.

Big Money, Connections to Top Democrats
Claiming to be America’s second-largest private foundation, the Ford Foundation has poured almost $2 billion into groups active in “disrupting systems to advance social justice,” according to its grant database.

The Ford Foundation boasts key members of the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris campaign as alumni executives. Harris’s sister and ex-campaign chairwoman Maya Harris served as the Ford foundation’s vice president alongside Biden’s now senior advisor, Cristóbal Alex, who served as its program director during the Obama presidency.

Some of Obama’s top staffers are now Ford Foundation’s top staffers. Taara Rangarajan, now Ford’s chief of staff, served as Obama’s national security advisor from 2013-2016. Before that, she served as a special assistant to Susan Rice during the Benghazi affair. Another Ford exec, Xavier de Souza Briggs, served as President Obama’s associate director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Funding for Communist-Connected Street Agitators
During the final months of the Obama presidency, Ford Foundation gave prominent leaders of the communist Workers World Party (WWP) funding to form the Southern Vision Alliance (SVA), a collective of activists that includes members of the group raining down terror in Charlotte last week at the RNC convention.

Shortly after getting $200,000 from the Ford Foundation in 2016, these activists performed one of the first violent and illegal teardowns of a historic monument in the country, in Durham, North Carolina. After the activists were arrested and charged for rioting and property damage, they are being defended in court, for free, by lawyers from another Ford grantee: the Southern Coalition for Social Justice.

Flush with Ford Foundation cash, these activists continue to promote property destruction and violence during demonstrations.

The Ford Foundation likes what it sees in the alleged criminal gang. This year, the wealthy nonprofit gave the group $750,000, more than tripling its inaugural donation, bringing Ford’s total contributions to SVA so far $1.2 million, according to the foundation’s website.

Millions for Marxists
Marxist-Leninist groups also get Ford Foundation support. Directed by Bernie Sanders’s senior advisor Phillip Agnew, the Dream Defenders group seeks the release of criminals from prison and the “end to the Capitalist system in the United States,” according to its now-scrubbed web page. The Ford Foundation has given the group $1.1 million, according to its grant database.

Social media accounts show the Marxist activists campaigning for Democrat mayors, state attorneys, and prosecutors in Florida who promise to end cash bail, defund the police, and free hardened criminals from jail.

Dream Defenders’ tactics vary: they shut down bridges in Florida, holding thousands of commuters hostage during rush-hour traffic; block entrances to Miami neighborhoods, threatening residents with unrelenting “civil unrest”; and shut down awards ceremonies for law enforcement, all in an effort to raise awareness for Democrats’ de-policing policies.

A tour through the Ford Foundation grant database shows Southern Vision Alliance and Dream Defenders to be a tiny part of these riot-fomenting groups agitating on American streets. While activists Ford funds desecrate cities and terrorize regular folks, the foundation gives millions to the “Defund the Police” movement.

As I reported in the National Pulse, Ford cheers the success of its anti-police campaign. From its website: “Already, we’ve seen our grantees at the forefront of the change that’s taken place over the last few days—from the City Council of Minneapolis’s pledge to dismantle the police department to reimagine public safety to Mayor Garcetti’s commitment to divest $250 million of the LAPD’s budget to support affected communities, to Minneapolis and Portland, Oregon voting to end the presence of police in their schools.”

Cities that have sought to cripple their police departments in acquiescence to such agitators’ demands have forced out police chiefs and seen officers leave the force. The result: murders and violent crimes, including shootings, assaults, and rapes, have increased exponentially in the nation’s biggest metros, according to multiple reports.

Accountable to No One
The Ford Foundation is financing a network of insurgents that intimidate elected officials and citizens to bring about dangerous political change. The FBI defines using intimidation and violence to achieve political ends as domestic terrorism.

Like other private foundations, Ford is governed only by basic IRS filing requirements and has virtually no public oversight. With woke leaders like Cisco’s CEO Chuck Robbins, Ford Motor Company’s Henry Ford III, and abortion giant Planned Parenthood’s former president Cecile Richards sitting on Ford’s board, be assured it will not cut off the funding to these Democrat street squads.

Undoubtedly the cops know exactly where he is. They are lining up his surrender at an odd hour to avoid a shit show of revenge and also the optic of arresting a hardcore ANTIFA member which will make them angrier. It'll be a surrender like Keese Love but this time without bail. Perp is also lining up his defense options with attorneys connected to the bail war chest.

If we’re going to ask why someone hasn’t been charged with various crimes, it’s a good idea to first know what the elements of those crimes are.

According to Wikipedia, for example, typical “hate” crimes are those motivated by someone’s race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability. Those are pretty broad categories, but political beliefs are not included in that list, and I’ve never heard of them being.

I don't know the nuances of what constitutes a hate crime. Seems like you have to prove a motive for the attack. Do hate crime charges apply when the motivation is political?

I am pretty sure walking up to someone, pumping two rounds into their chest and then running away is murder though and a person capable of doing that should be off the street.

The 'official' local Portland (PDX) news station mantra is that the shooter is unknown and that there is a a lot of misinformation circulating on Social Media.

So, you right wing agitators here, stop with the conjectures, until local officials tell us. (Sarcasm)

Reality is that I get more correct information here than via my local news media here.

Funny how the media jumps to conclusions when an innocent black person gets arrested/shot in the process and no such speak from the news media; we know the names going back to Obama regime.

Ted the Turd is having a news conference sometime soon today. SO, perhaps more news on this prep.

Meanwhile, 6 bolshevik groups here are calling for Ted the Turd's immediate resignation (as well as the 2+ month old Police Chief; African-American; just like they wanted). Police Chief is ok - is doing what he can to support his troops - gets a thumbs up from me.

Also, per local news, seems Gauleiter Brown is now starting to take baby steps in increased Law and Order in PDX. I think she is starting to realize that President Trump is millimeters (in reference to the Metric System thread - OK with me, but I learned it before the english system which was very confusing a took a few years to fully grasp), from activating the Insurrection Act and sending Nat Guard in to Portland.

Meanwhile, riots again last night, 29 people arrested, 2 with pistols (looked like Glocks but I'm not an expert). One had 2 spare magazines, so he takes his personal defense seriously.

Pro LEO protestors stayed home - they had to go to work this morning.

It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.
