Give me a shout, I'm just outside the city limits of Polson; built a home here on 7 acres in 2015-16.

With temperatures outside well south of -25°F (and wind chills approaching -60°F), my recently installed Mitsubishi 3 ton Hyper-Heat mini-split system has eclipsed it's limits of -13°F for 100% heating efficency. Yeah it is supposed to still generate some heat when things are colder outside but we found the inside of the house rapidly cooing to below 60°F so we had to augment things with our old inefficient electric baseboard systems.

Damn it's COLD here! Eek

Hunkered down under extra blankets and comforters.

-23F when I got up this morning. Now sitting at -21. Brrr. Got the stove fired up and it's a nice toasty 75 inside.

Just hoping the pipes out in the shop are OK.

I remember when Mickey Rivers was with the Yankees and they had a VERY cold April homestand one year.

After a game when the temperature started in the upper 40s and in a matter of two hours plummeted to the very low 30s by the sixth inning, reporters asked Rivers how cold it felt:

"It was so cold today that I saw a dog chasing a cat and the dog was walking."

Here in the Yoop, been snowing steadily all day, with 4 to 6 inches of snow. And the real storm has not arrived yet! Full on Blizzard Warning for two days, starting early tomorrow AM and running through Saturday. I went to the grocery and loaded supplies for the duration. No plans to leave the Igloo until Monday. Mush, you Huskies!
Merry Christmas!

Now they're referring to the whole arctic front as a BOMB CYCLONE!!!! Eek Eek Eek

Roll Eyes

It's called winter. Perhaps a little chillier than most this week, but...yeah...that happens during the winter.

Next week we're supposed to be in the 30s and 40s. What are they going to call that? Global warming I suppose.

I have a friend in Michigan, and the weather channel is sending that douchebag reporter that faked the windiness of the hurricane then got busted by 2 guys strolling by casually.

I wouldn't put it past him to stand in front of a ski resorts snow maker, and then head to the hotel before the real weather arrives.

We're currently at -2 with a -22 wind chill. I stepped outside briefly while letting my dog out just now, and that wind is no joke!

Our projected 3+ inches of snow accumulation didn't materialize. Sure, it snowed all day, but it got so cold so fast that all the snow was super dry and whispy. So with the 30+ MPH winds, the loose snow just got all blown around rather than stacking up like usual. I'm sure there are some impressively deep snowdrifts out there in some corners and ditches, but most of the flat surfaces are scoured nearly clean.

Me personally, I like this kind of weather. The colder, the better.

I'm ready. After last weekend's morning bout with the ice, I finally got around to getting my snow setup mounted. Meanwhile, at work, the morons still refuse to put snow tires on the front of our all wheel drive suvs. Our last remaining charger is awd and only has snow tires on the back.

Gov't.

60 early this afternoon, dropped to freezing in 3 hours. Going to be upper teens tonight. One good thing is that there is no precipitation. Thank God for that. Don't want to have to drive to work with sleet on the road.

Watched Baylor/Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl down in Fort Worth. At some point during the game it was 13°. Prompted me to call a friend in San Antonio, whose son is a USAFA grad. It was 17° in SA! Reminded him of last year’s “snowpacolypse.” He was actually raised in Montana, and after last year’s frigid temps, has their house winterized thoroughly. “Bring it on,” he says.
