An actual hurricane is not dramatic enough. The truth is always insufficient (or just plain wrong if TRUMP is involved) and must be embellished/altered.

Weather Channel defends reporter captured swaying in Florence winds as 2 people walk behind him
quote:
“So dramatic!” one social media user tweeted with the video. “Dude from the Weather Channel bracing for his life, as 2 dudes just stroll past.”

I learned a long time ago not to trust or believe ANYTHING the American media has to "REPORT". Decades ago there was a newspaper owner (I don't recall his name) said that they don't report the news, but make the news. The news media will sensationalize anything they can to keep the viewers engaged and roped in.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

The media isn't in the news business they're in the entertainment business. They behave more and more like paparazzi every day.

My buddy shared this on FB from April '11:

It's refreshing to see this fiction isn't limited to "blizzards".

I commute 38 miles one way and have never missed work due to road conditions, in 16 years, never. I have toughed it out through multiple blizzards of the century though.

Now back to your previously recorded destruction.

Yep sensationalism at its full Monty got to love it! Then the weather channel doubles down and defends it. I would say the reporter received training from the network on how to report weather that brings the ratings up.

The American media has squandered its only stock in trade. Credibility is not easily regained. It comes after decades of faithful trustworthy accurate reporting. Since the minds of those in the media have been poisoned by Leftism and PC, I don't see that happening in my remaining lifetime. AFAIC, I can never trust them again.

No, it's just only begun.

The media is the Great And Powerful Oz.

Journalists should have to hold a license just like any other professional.

At one time in this country, being a reporter/journalist was an honorable profession.

Nowadays... not so much.
