Jackie Brown
Inglorious Basterds
Django Unchained

reasons; brilliantly cast, amazing dialogue, subtle foreshadowing, each cinematic masterpieces. I don't really care for other Tarantino movies though I will watch Kill Bill if nothing else is on; too contrived compared to the three above.

I thought of a couple more.

Miracle on 34th Street
It’s a Wonderful Life
It Happened On 5th Avenue
A Christmas Story
Quigley Down Under
Monte Walsh
Lonesome Dove
Open Range
Jaws
Airport
Airplane
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Fugitive
American Graffiti
12 Angry Men
The Blues Brothers
Mr. Roberts
Caddyshack
Stir Crazy
Stripes
Hot Stuff
Firefox
Trains, Planes, and Automobiles
The Green Mile

I’m not very good at critiquing movies, there are many I don’t like, many I’ll watch if there’s nothing else on, many I like, and many that I really enjoy. The ones I’ve listed are the ones I really enjoy watching. I’m sure there are many others, but I need to stop.

I think I might be watching too much TV.

I guess I should have been a bit more explicit in the title but...

Galaxy Quest - I will stop what I'm doing and watch it no matter where I pick it up - just so many good lines and Alan Rickman was over the top - a great foil to Tim Allen's character. Tony Shalhoub had some really great throw away lines as well

The Final Countdown - who can resist F14's going up against Zero's. Charles Durning played a great character as did Farentino and Douglas. Will pick it up anywhere in the showing and enjoy it.

Most other movies (except for Top Gun Maverick) I will watch once and then be done with it. Maverick is in a class of its own.

The movie that I cannot NOT (equals MUST) watch:

CASABLANCA

Reasons:
- Conflicted hero
- Beautiful woman
- Ultimate bad guys
- Colorful cast of supporting characters
- Most MEMORABLE lines ever said as the have entered into everyday usage
- Redemption of human condition
- Can NEVER be remade, as too much History has occurred

Good one! If I see a short on YouTube, I'm back watching the whole movie again. I think I've seen it about nine or ten times, already.

(Actually, I'm probably gonna go watch it now that it's been mentioned. Razz)

So we made it almost through two pages before anybody mentioned Spaceballs?

There are a few others that I'll stop and watch when they are on, but these are classics.

Legends of the fall
Especially for the buffalo rifle, thermos and pipe scene. If you know, you know. And for “what’s going on out here?” Watch it whenever the wife’s not around

Yes, fucking Lars von Trier. Here's a guy who doesn't just hate Mankind, but all of life, and that's not all of life on this planet. We're talking about a guy who made a movie in which his protagonist says that life of any kind exists nowhere else in the Universe, and then the story proceeds to destroy Earth entirely, thus wiping out all life in the entire Universe. Forget misanthropy; there's not even a word for someone who hates all life forms, but that's what this sack of shit is. If you think I'm exaggerating, watch Melancholia.

If you really want to be disgusted by this Eurotrash blob, check out his film Dear Wendy from 2005. This guy has never been to the United States, never even held a firearm, but he proceeds to trash all Americans and all gun owners as being psychotic. His idea of this country, as portrayed in that film, has no connection to reality.

Quite a few already listed are also some of my favorites.

I’ll add Sergeant York - anytime I stumble across it on broadcast channels I watch til the end.

The wording is curious.

Cannot Not is not help, especially to a dyslexic who doesn't see words in normal sentences.
And I did NOT see the NOT after the Cannot. Big Grin
(even after reading it multiple times to try and figure out what I was missing and what was causing so much confusion)
