I owed the last 3 years. But before that, I had them direct deposit my refunds.

I have not seen my stimulus check, as of this AM. Do I need to go to that new "portal" and put in my banking info? Thanks! Regards 18DAI

Taxpayers outraged after stimulus checks are deposited into tax preparers' accounts

Who lets their tax preparers deposit tax refunds for them? Never mind, I already know the demographic without looking it up

Thanks for the option, but it's already gone to a friend in GA. He was self employed, non-essential they say, so out of work and he has Lupus to deal with. He got $1K and the other $200 going to the two groups who sued the Wake Co. Sheriff's office when they used the virus as an excuse to stop issuing handgun purchase permits.

I was asked a question and haven’t been able to find an answer. If one is on social security and direct deposit, would the stimulus check arrive in their bank account the same time of the month as their normal ss payment? For example, let’s say that a recipient’s birthday falls on the 25th, therefore their monthly payment occurs on the last week of a given month, does that mean the stimulus payment will, too?

From the same place all the other federal expenditures come from. The Government Printing Office!

It happened that way for me. But it might have been a coincident.

I believe so, if you make 75K or less per year, or less than 150K for you and your spouse.

Mine did not. Got my SS deposit 4/15... but no stimulus money yet.

I OWE, I OWE, I OWE...

I was under the impression that, even if you owed back taxes you would still receive this?

We owe, and we don't qualify.

After the wife started working full time (OR nurse), we have found ourselves owing every year. A year later, we moved into a home that was 2x the size of our old home. Then the Trump tax cuts happened, so that threw our taxes off as well. My gunsmith business helps A LOT, but we're still trying to find the equilibrium point in our contributions to the IRS. We went from getting $5,000 a year back to owing $4,000, then owing $6,000 after the tax cuts. Without the business, we would have owed $8,000 last year.

I just filed my extension today as well. I won't be done prepping my taxes until October.

The wife and I still have our jobs and the only thing we've lost so far is overtime. We both worked excessive overtime. We're both now down to 40 hours a week. We each normally work 50+ a week. While it would be nice to have a stimulus check, we don't need it.

My mother, on the other hand, is on social security and should get one. She's been checking her account daily to see if she got it. It hasn't arrived yet.

Tony.

You sound like me we went from getting a tax return each year to owing. Young and dumb but after my wife graduated from college and joined the workforce we owed almost 12K the first year. But that only happened once after that we found a pretty good accountant and we almost always brake even.

I will be swift in my attack. My venom is packed with enough pride and gun powder to take down
any adversary that attempts to tread on my freedom. You've been warned, but if you
still want to test me, take a step forward.
