Then, uh, what's your point? Drive by dump without wiping so the rest of us can stare at the skid mark?

And now folks, back to your regularly scheduled "discussion" board.

Thanks Tank. I'll just wait around for someone else to vindicate my rights, I won't fight for them, I won't raise hell in my community, and directly tell the cops and the politicians what I think of their bullshit. Oh, and I'll just wait for the election and the courts to debate the amount of authority that the governor has, outside of the legislature. I'll just bag off on "compelling state interest" and "narrowly tailored to achieve that compelling state interest." Yup, nothing to see here, just move along.

Horseshit. Rights need to be fought for and defended. Politicians and thuggish cops need to feel the heat in real time. Feel the anger of the population, be made to look the fool on camera and in the news, and be made to feel uncomfortable in public.

As CPD SIG and jljones and others have noted in a few places in this thread, there is ample discretion in the hands of individual officers to deal with this in a non-confrontational, sensible way. The NJ cops and politicians have chosen the path of confrontation. They shouldn't be surprised when they get pushback, are insulted, sued, ignored and told to fuck off. If they keep this up, they will have earned the disdain and even outright hatred of the local population, and frankly, they should expect it.

So normal Tanksoldier ops then, but I like you putting the caveat there for the newbies. Saves everyone time figuring it out for themselves.

Roll Eyes Then why say anything then? The cops have discretion over things like this and the ones who enforce these tyrannical orders should be held accountable.

Hey Tank, it appears several courts have overturned several governor's overreach citing them as unlawful and overreaching without legislative action. Hmmmmm....apparently you and the courts have a bit of a different view on just what authority state governments have. And as far as the cops having to enforce such BS, I have at least a half dozen friends in law enforcement that would dispute that requirement.

Thank you ArtieS for taking the time spelling out a detailed response. I and I am pretty sure a bunch here and in America feel exactly how you expressed yourself. Well said and Again, thank you.

Oh and this "public health" BS is an absolute ploy to plow through the constitution and Bill of Rights.
This is about as disturbing as anything Because everything these little nazi fascists are perpetrating is under the cover of "public health"

I like Tank, warts and all, and am pleased to see him posting more these days. I also remember, as many here no doubt can too, how hard and long he worked to get into the LE world, post-military.

So it's pretty easy to understand why he's a bit touchy regarding the broad criticism of his chosen tribe these days. Lots of folks struggle to find a connection and a new home, post-service, and he's found his.

Cut him some slack, maybe. I have no doubts he means well, and you might recall... he's paid his shit talking dues, kicking in doors in shitty places for Uncle Sugar, on foot, after being a tanker...

Bit of a Company Man, no doubt, but he's a patriot at heart.

Hot damn! Governor Desantis was very unlike himself today. He apparently has graduated 'Trump/Media Interaction 201' and unleashed that knowledge on the corrupt media today. Must say I'm liking this guy more and more every day. Can't post the video so you'll have to hit the link. Governor Desantis visits an Orlando nursing home with VP Mike Pence

I do love the fact that RAMIUS is shown being handcuffed with a mask on.

That really highlights the Governor’s overreach.

Tank, I might be more tolerant to these measures taken by those in authority if it was in fact in response to a nationwide known, proven 100% deadly disease. C-19 has not risen to that degree nationwide.
Here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan our population is 311K. We have about 100 cases.
So.... by what authority do you quarantine 300K
healthy people, shut down their economy and close businesses that the region depends on?
Even accepting your premise that these measures are all fully legal, destroying healthy peoples lives is not justified or morally right.
If you have an area of the country severely affected by C-19, then deal with that area and leave the rest of us alone.

It doesn't matter if it's a bar. Bars pay taxes, have employees, and pay rent. They purchase products through distributors who have warehouse workers and truck drivers. Distributors purchase from manufacturers who have all sorts of employees.

All businesses are essential. All jobs are essential. If they weren't essential, they wouldn't exist. We are all ants in a colony and play a role in the collective. You start knocking down parts of it, and the entire thing may collapse.

Did I say all businesses were not essential? No I did not, so please spare me the lecture. I have been through layoffs 7 times, totaling 2.5 years and almost half of that I received no unemployment compensation from the state (because I had run my own business prior), didn’t have any government loan programs available, no stimulus check, zero, nada.

My point was that the gym is a far cry from a bar. It’s not like this man was in a bar that said fuck you to the state, and he was in said bar getting smashed. To me there is a difference, as I stated prior, because many people go to the gym to rehab injuries, to do their physical therapy, etc. Up there with medical facilities to me. I feel for anyone shut down from this. I’ve lost my check many times as I said. Don’t make a simple ant hill statement into a mountain. We are all friends here.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

The dull, oppressive hand of the uncaring state; you will comply. We will simply keep ratcheting up the pressure until you give in.

Mao's dictum: "All power comes from the barrel of a gun." NJ is trying to prove that against this gym.

If this stupidity keeps up, someone is going to get hurt or killed. Either a business owner, protester, cop, politician or administrative fuckbag like Camden County Division of Environmental Health Sheryl Flemming.
