Defiant Zelenskyy Resumes Russian Refinery Drone Strikes https://www.zerohedge.com/geop...finery-drone-strikes A defiant President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the Financial Times on Thursday morning that Ukrainian forces will resume attacks on Russian refineries. The move certainly seems more political than anything else. Such attacks have been described as one of the drivers behind the global refining crisis, which has collided with Strait of Hormuz disruptions. "The block [on attacking refineries] is out. We're done," Zelenskyy told the FT. He said Kiev had suspended energy strikes for three days at the Trump administration's request. Even before that, the Trump administration had requested many times that Kiev stop bombing Russian refineries, but Ukraine remained mostly defiant and ramped up those attacks leading up to the US midterm elections. One can only wonder whether the escalation was politically motivated, worsening the diesel crisis and translating into consumer pain at US pumps. Zelenskyy's new narrative is that the resumption of drone attacks on Russian refineries is a response to what he described as a "dangerous" cutoff of US intelligence sharing and the degradation of Starlink service. Trump has denied cutting off intelligence sharing. Elon Musk said the US government controls Starshield's speed and usage limits, the military satellite network built on Starlink technology. Zelenskyy's office said Thursday that it had lifted the speed restrictions. A growing rift is apparent between Zelenskyy and the Trump administration, as the Ukrainian president went on a media roadshow this week to push the narrative that he feels "betrayed" by Trump. Yet this should be seen as theatrics, a performative stunt by the former comedian who knows how to put on a good act before the US midterms. Zelensky tells Piers Morgan he feels 'BETRAYED' BY TRUMP: 'really YES, really, between us' https://t.co/InYEjF5LLa — RT (@RT_com) October 14, 2026 Last week, Trump said it was "time to get a new leader" after Zelenskyy ignored pleas to stop strikes on Russian refineries, one of the reasons why US diesel prices recently topped a national average of $6.50 a gallon. EXPLAINED: Ukraine’s Military, Elon Musk’s Starlink Slowdown In brief: Starlink (Elon Musk) limited terminals above ~160 kph, crippling Ukraine’s key mid-range strike drones (hitting Russian logistics) and fast interceptor drones vs. jet-powered Russian ones. Ground ops and short-range FPV drones remain largely unaffected; Starlink is still vital for military data. The US aerospace giant Starlink and its CEO Elon Musk on Tuesday tweaked parameters and weakened the capability of its worldwide satellite communications system, which is the Ukrainian military’s most important data transfer platform. Kyiv Post took a look at the implications. Starlink and Ukraine’s military, the basics The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) operate about 50,000 “official” Starlink terminals purchased by its own government or allies, with Poland probably being the biggest contributor, with a reported 29,000 terminals acquired. Besides these state-level acquisitions are an estimated 50,000 more terminals thought to be in the Ukrainian military’s hands thanks to private donations, internal unit funding drives, and terminals financed by soldiers themselves. The Ukrainian military overwhelmingly uses Starlink as its main digital data transmission platform. Everything from artillery adjustments, drone control, supply and logistics tracking, operational planning, suspected and known Russian unit locations and private communications between soldiers on the line and friends and family back home in the AFU is almost always passed by a Starlink internet connection to a soldier’s smartphone, tablet or laptop. Alternative means of communication include radio, landline telephone, mobile telephone, dedicated military data transmission channels, civilian data transmission channels like cable and television, and less capable Starlink competitors. https://www.kyivpost.com/post/87184 __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! We probably could solve our diesel problem if we stop exporting it. That thing in Moscow didnt need any of Ukraine. He started this war claiming save the russian speakers and, oh nazis every where He, just like the thing in China was sitting on old age and decades of old weapons. He just wanted to show the workd what a Billy Bad Ass he thinks he is. Now he has earned mega War Criminal status and wants to remain alive and in control. This whole mess was not solvable by Trump. He knows not what he is doing globally. He did right by making the rest of NATO build up their weapons stocks but, those chicken shits are just sitting on it, waiting for Uncle Sucker to throw the first punch. I hope Ukraine destroys everything Russia has F 'em straight to hell.

^^ You did leave out that we (the US.gov under Obama et al, the EU and NATO) orchestrated a coup in Ukraine, which overthrew the Democratically elected gov't there...A gov't that was favorable to Russia, and especially the ethnic Russians in the Donbas region of Ukraine. That was presumably the final straw in a long list of Russian expressed 'red lines' that prompted Russia to annex Crimea, which was and is the home port of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet. The Russians have had a naval base in Crimea since 1783, so for the last 240 years! One 'could' even reasonably conclude that the the annexation of Crimea by Russia was also, at least in part, a response to NATO expansion efforts in Eastern Europe. The subsequent consideration (offer?) to have Ukraine join NATO simply added fuel to the situation from Russia's perspective. While I'm not saying I support Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but I can certainly see/understand why they did it. Honestly, Donald Trump seems to be doing more globally, more effectively than ANY world leader since at least Ronald Reagan! History will judge him favorably in this regard, I'm sure, AND as one of the most consequential Presidents of our lifetimes'. And for the record - I'm of Ukrainian heritage. I feel for the Ukrainian people (and only the people!) as much as anyone. This war (and all the unnecessary death(s) on both sides!) has gone on FAR too long, and cannot end soon enough! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! Putin is a piece of shit thug under whose leadership is responsible for thousands of civilian deaths and the abduction of thousands of minor Ukrainian children. Fuck him. As far as NATO et al orchestrating a coup, see below. According to the Snopes Archives, NATO and President Joe Biden did not orchestrate a coup in Ukraine. NATO is an international organization, and coups are typically actions taken by domestic actors within a country. The Snopes article titled "Did NATO or Biden Orchestrate a Coup in Ukraine?" explains that NATO does not have the authority or capability to stage a coup in another country. Additionally, President Biden has consistently supported Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and there is no evidence to suggest that he has attempted to orchestrate a coup. The article emphasizes that the events in Ukraine, particularly the Russian invasion in 2022, were the result of geopolitical tensions and not actions taken by NATO or the Biden administration. For more details, you can refer to the Snopes article titled "Did NATO or Biden Orchestrate a Coup in Ukraine?" which provides a comprehensive analysis of the situation.

Trump calls Ukraine's new attacks on Russian refineries 'a disgrace' and blames them for pushing up global energy prices - after Zelensky condemned US president's 'betrayal' https://www.dailymail.com/news...idents-betrayal.html _________________________

Zelensky will be dead by month's end. Trump has likely already given the greenlight to Putin to eliminate him. I didn't have the US sabotaging Ukraine and siding with Russia on my bingo card but I love it. Russia has showed incredible restraint by not attacking Ukranian energy sites yet time and time again Zelensky poked the bear.

Believe my reference or don't. It's up to you, but the information is readily available all over the internet. To believe that Russia has not been attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure is some high level ignorance. ________________________________________________________ It is long past time for a Convention of States. Zelensky has had the protection of the NATO intel agencies but it seems likely that Europe and the US will continue to diverge. I don't know when... but I doubt Zelensky lives long enough to enjoy his ill-gotten gains on a beach somewhere into old age. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

When this ridiculous prediction is proven wrong, I'm going to stick it in your face. I want you to try to limit the amount of stupid shit you say on this subject, as difficult as you may find that. Recently, someone suggested to me that you're merely a troll. I'm beginning to believe that this might be correct. Behave yourself.

The comedian has tremendous power playing his allies against each other. Progressive media has spent years describing Zelensky as the good to Putin's evil. Very hard to control the comedian as he is also possibly insane and really believes this ends with the total defeat of Russia and the restoration of Ukrainian territorial claims. He's probably already missed his best chance for a good deal, but time will tell. He'll likely continue to feed his people to this endless war until both the US and Europe run out of money for the project. Could be years. It's probably true that a dead Zelensky would save thousands of lives that would otherwise be lost in that relentless dust-up.

On the diesel deal with Russia. For anyone who cares to understand the situation spend a little time in educating yourself on who has been funding Russia from the start. Bessent spells it out clearly. Of course it is and has been Urope from the beginning. But the media and their imperial globalist masters continue to spew their lies and many gobble it up including some here. The irony of this mess is missed by many. Urope is our real enemy and has been since the end of the Revolutionary war imho. This message has been edited. Last edited by: old rugged cross, "Practice like you want to play in the game"
