That Samantha Powers election night story is worth reading in its entirety in Politico. You would have to have a heart of stone not to roll on the floor laughing.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

It’d be pretty swell if we could cease foreign aid anyway... at least until we don’t have to borrow money to give it.

Thanks. That was an interesting read. They didn't say much, platitudes, cliches, drivel.

The person had worked many extra hours for which he had not been paid and he didn't even get a raise while some of his co-workers were part of the good old boys network and got a nice raise. So he came to work for us with a nice increase in salary.

I once interviewed them and all they were trying to do is pump me for confidential information for which I had signed a non-disclosure agreement.

so while the DEMs continue their chronic hysteria about Donald Trump saying something naughty,

Seven Days.

It took just seven trading days for the Dow Jones Industrial Average to climb from 25000 to 26000, by far the fastest ascent from one round-number milestone to the next in the blue-chip index’s 121-year history

(remains to be seen what the Dow will be at closing today)

Before Trump, the "media" had every politician so cowed they were terrified of saying something non-PC. Imagine Mittens trying to talk about immigrants from third world countries, if he would even dare to do that at all.

The media sit there like spiders in their webs, juuuuuusst waiting.

Exactly what was needed is what Trump offered: in-your-face rudeness and offensiveness! Mittens would have been doing a little toe dance, trying to talk about, uh, less fortunate impoverished nations with their, um, no doubt deserving peoples seeking yada yada.

Trump: "Why are we taking in all these people from shithole countries?"

Big Grin. Big Grin

Apologies be damned. Mad

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters that President Donald Trump would not apologize after his reported comment about not accepting immigrants from “shithole countries.”

“The president hasn’t said he didn’t use strong language, and this is an important issue. He’s passionate about it. He’s not going to apologize for trying to fix our immigration system,” Sanders said in a brief conversation with reporters outside of the White House.

In lighter news......DJT talks NAFTA Smile

“[Mexicans] realize they have more to lose than the United States” in the event of a collapse of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), said Curtis Ellis, Senior Policy Advisor for America First Policies.

Ellis offered his analysis during a Monday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with Breitbart News’s Senior Editors-at-Large Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.

President Donald Trump, added Ellis, is seeking reciprocity between Canada, Mexico, and America in the realm of government procurement regulations:

[The Trump administration wants to reign] in the government procurement rules so that we will open our government market to foreign vendors to the exact dollar amount that Canada and Mexico open up their government procurement accounts to our companies. So in other words, we have “buy American” rules for the American government, but under NAFTA, we’ve included Canadian and Mexican companies as American, so Canadian and Mexican companies can be treated as American companies when taxpayer dollars are spent on goods and services. We happen to spend $1 trillion, or so, whereas the Mexican government only spends $100 billion. So we’re going to make that equal.

Trump intends to implement “a five-year sunset on NAFTA where it gets renegotiated every five years, the way any business contract does,” added Ellis, citing “well-placed sources.”

Trump says he didn't actually use the word "shithole." I believe him, just as a matter of fact. Trump said he used "tough language," and Dick Durbin made up "shithole" because he thought it was scandalous, shocking. But the only people shocked-- shocked I tell you-- were hypocrites like Anderson Cooper, who thought it was fine to refer to conservative Americans with a term that describes the sexual practice of having one's balls sucked, "tea bagging." That was fine, hilarious, really.

What we needed to demolish the stone fortress of political correctness was a wrecking ball: Donald J. Trump.

Trump's response to Dick Durbin's lie about "shithole?" Did he apologize, and say that he regretted his rough language, but he feels passionate about the issue and just got carried way, blah blah? Not on you life.

He now calls Durbin "Little Dick." Big Grin

CNN Kept Shouting Questions At Trump — He Silenced Them With One Word

Donald Trump opened himself to the White House press corps for the first time after Democratic lawmakers leaked his controversial “s***hole” comments to the media last week, and delivered yet another exchange with reporters in the process.

Trump held a brief avail with the press in the Oval Office Tuesday afternoon while meeting with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan.

Trump touted economic achievement over the last couple months of his administration, noting the historically low black unemployment numbers and the return of manufacturing jobs.

After the comments, Trump thanked the press for being there. As staffers asked the press to leave the Oval Office, a barrage of questions were shouted at the president. Many were shouted by CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta. Acosta loudly asked about Norway and Steve Bannon, causing the White House staff to reprimand him with a quick ” Jim, thank you. Please exit. Thanks, everyone.”

Trump, for his part, had a one word response to Acosta’s questioning: “Out.”

Acosta tweeted after being forced out that staff were yelling at him:
