I absolutely will NOT take the vaccination. Why take an UNPROVEN vaccine that's 94% effective for a desease with a 99% curable? There are MULTIPLE well proven drugs such as Hydrocloroquine and ivermectin that are far more documented and safe to use against COVID19. Don't buy into Government BS about Covid.

And YES my family has had COVID including my 80yr old mother with respiratory issues. Hydrochloroquine cured hers and she was barely ill. ........

I’ll take it unless they compel me.

It'll be many months before they've worked through tens of millions of willing front-line healthcare workers and elderly/higher-risk. So if it's still getting good results, I will perhaps in the summer.

Can't say that I'm going to chase it down as I'm not in any high risk group.

Hard no. I saw I Am Legend.

Seriously though, not sure if it's going to be mandatory for me or not. If it's not, I'm not going to.

We will likely get it mostly because of our age, but I probably would not if I was 30 years younger.

The vaccination is likely no more or less dangerous than any other vaccine as it was developed based on existing methods. As always there will be a small percentage of the population who will have a reaction and should not take it but those people usually know who they are from past experience. It will be spring before the vaccination goes mainstream to the general public and by then millions and millions will have been given world wide so a short term safety record will be on record.

I saw a opinion piece a few days ago by some flake SJW, sorry no link. Headline was something like...
How to deal with those who refuse to get the vaccine.
Basically the author suggested we carry proof of vaccination on us at all times and shouldn't be allowed in any business or public space without it. Roll Eyes They are out there and they vote.

As for the flu shot... I saw one analysis a month or so ago that seemed to suggest that getting just the flu shot alone INCREASED the chance of you getting Covid. My first thought was Oh shit! Thats not good. My second thought was wondering if that wasn't just propaganda, using scare tactics, to push the Covid vaccination.

One statement I heard recently was that being vaccinated couldn’t be made mandatory at present for health care workers and others because the approval for the vaccine(s) were made as emergency use authorization(s).

Anyone care to comment on that?

I probably will. It will likely be mandatory in order for me to go back to my old job anyway.

For those who aren't aware of it: Anaphylaxis can kill you. It nearly did my wife.

You can damn betcha that, if and when I do choose to get one of these vaccinations, I'll have an epinephrine injector (EpiPen) close to hand.

My wife will almost certainly never get it. She checks every damn bingo square for it being contraindicated.

Maybe you didn't hear, COVID can kill you also. Smile

I'll be the first in line to get it. Hopefully it will get us closer to being back to normal.

Not sure if that’s the case but I am on the list to receive the vaccine this or next week....My group is lumped in with the local large hospital (Yale) and all of the emails I’ve received indicate that it is NOT mandatory for anyone and quite clearly states that. No one is prevented from working if they opt out of the vaccine at this juncture.

Are you watching these Dem governors and the un-American filth in Washington aided by a totally corrupt media? They will fight tooth and nail to maintain the current status quo where a huge majority of the sheep in the country are terrified to even move, allowing them the ability to impose whatever they opt to on them. No way government is giving up their newly acquired ability to do whatever they please.

This is true. Our local health system is offering it, but not requiring it.

Anybody who thinks anything and everything they comply with will get them back to "normal" is fooling themselves. There aren't enough masks you can wear, enough sanitizer you can use, no amount of social distancing or no amount of time being locked out of your favorite bar and or restaurant will ever allow you to reach that carrot on a stick called normal.

A vaccine will not get you there either. There is much more left to be done using this virus. Much more.

I want to see more information and discussion about the vaccine and whether or not it is a mRNA Vaccine. Is this Vaccine able to change DNA??? Seriously! IMHO this is a very legitimate discussion. I WILL NOT take a Vaccine that is able to change my DNA! I'm sure I need further education on mRNA but my current understanding is that is IS capable of altering DNA........

I know this, which is why I chose the words that I did.

In fact, I specifically stated as such. Never the less, whether one gets NCIP (Covid-19), it is a very wise choice to have the flu shot and pneumonia vaccine.

Sorry, I thought you were saying that the pneumonia vaccine would protect against Covid induced pneumonia.

No, it definitely won’t. Otherwise, it would have been a simple, elegant solution at the outset. Covid-19 is not the only pneumonia that may stem from an infection, however. While one may have a novel corona virus infection, one may have mild signs and symptoms, yet suffer a compromised system and be susceptible to any number of other infections. At a time when colds, flu’s, and pneumonia(s) tend to show a marked rise, and when people gravitate indoors, one maybe exposed to more than one pathogen. Taking precautionary measures is warranted.

Equally on point is any effort to reduce exposure to the hospital environment, reduces ones exposure at some level to Covid, too. The last place I want to go right now, if I can help it, is a hospital. Many are full, they’re busy, and they don’t need my complicating matters. If I can avoid illness such as a pneumonia strain and this avoid the ER or hospitalization, so much the better. Flu and Pneumonia vaccines are one tool, among many, to reduce those exposures, and thus many other exposures, too.

Further, if I do get Covid and am treated, I am far less likely to pick up another pneumonia in the process if I am already vaccinated.
