Our 7 yr old HP printer has gone wonky . My wife has tried everything she can find to get it operating but it ain't happening . I've never cared for the way HP screws with you over the cartridge situation . Does anyone have any experience with the refillable cartridges ? Is there another brand of printer we should consider ? We need Bluetooth capability and auto feed .

We just got an HP Smart Tank 7001 tank-type inkjet and it's been awesome so far. My wife prints a lot for our homeschool children and it's very good print-quality, virtually laser printer like. Prints pretty fast too for an inkjet, much faster than I was expecting. I had sworn off inkjets for almost 20 years because of the ripoff cartridge thing but this is a game changer. You fill it up when you need to and you don't even need the official HP ink and the costs are very reasonable. HP Smart Tank 7001

I will only use Brother printers if I'm paying for it. Cartridges are very reasonable. _____________

Was not my experience with them, at all. Brother color laser needed new toner cartridges and aftermarket print quality was horrible. Online forums said only way to get good prints was to use genuine Brother toner cartridges ($260!) which exceeded the cost of the printer ($200). Then it crapped out on me and I got the HP tank printer, I'll never buy another Brother printer.

This ^^^^^ We've an Epson EcoTank ET-3760 acquired from Costco about a year ago. Been pleased with it so far. Doesn't have Bluetooth, though. Not certain why one would need it. We both print to it from our iPhones and iPads via Wifi. "America is at that awkward stage. We just got the 6001 from Amazon for $229, we haven't opened the box yet. The wife wanted an HP and I really like the ink set up

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
For laser black & white, Brother. For anything you are considering, also check prices on the toner refills, cost per page, etc. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I have a Brother 3270 color laser. It was inexpensive and the 3rd party toners are reasonable. Brother Laser jet. I have had a B&W one for years. Cheap as chips, fast. aftermarket toner widely available. My last HP was met with a sledge hammer when it refused to print B&W once the color cartridges "expired". Never printed color, never intended to.

I too had sworn off inkjets because of how the cartridges were getting crazy but this new type of refillable tank inkjet is a game changer and I did what I said I would never do and went back to an inkjet. I looked it up and I can get aftermarket ink for the HP for a very reasonable cost and even the HP stuff isn't bad, the bottles I got are supposed to last for a year of average printing needs. I think they finally realized people were sick of having to pay $75 for a ink cartridge.

Ten or twelve years ago, I bought my second Epson, a Workforce Pro model, after not great experiences with cheap ink-jet printers. While still an ink-jet, the cartridges were high capacity, individual for each color, and reasonably priced. I’m still happy with it. It’s much quieter than my first Epson printer, but that was a 24-pin dot-matrix hooked up to my Apple IIe. When it comes time to replace it, I’d get another Epson. I’d look at the ecotank models if I needed one now.

We have an Epson with the ink tanks system. I would never go back to cartridges. Ever. Big bottle of ink lasts way longer and is way cheaper. Cartridges are a scam that we had no choice to participate in for years. I’m glad someone finally said no and went to ink tanks.

I went with a HP color laser for both myself and son. I don't print enough, ink would dry out, went with toner ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Live today as if it may be your last and learn today as if you will live forever

When the current HP gives up the ghost I'll probably move to a new Tank Fill system printer. As normal suggestion - Costco has the Epson EcoTank ET 3850 SE on sale for $299.79 El Linko

Brother for B/W, for sure. We have a dozen or so & they work great. Haven't tried their color print models, we have commercial jumbo Canon printers for that. The Enemy's gate is down.

Ink jets were always clogging and drying up because I may go weeks or even a month or more between uses so I went to an HP laser B&W a couple years ago and it has worked perfectly. Definitely go laser unless you use your printer regularly. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.
