I did not vote once. I got exactly the government I deserved. Nixon, Watergate, and an unelected President. That experiance cured me forever.

I turned 18 in 1976, shortly after the 26th Amendment was adopted, and voted that year for Gerald Ford for president. Then I went for a long period of time without voting, which I regret. I have voted pretty consistently (not always in every primary, or for minor offices like county clerk) for the last ~20 years.

I wonder how it is now for servicemen overseas.
Has time changed and is it now promoted?

Yes, it is promoted. At least as of 2012 when I retired. When I was stationed in Germany (2002-04) it was heavily promoted.

I voted in San Francisco for the most conservative choices, even when I thought I might be the only conservative voting. Get off your ass and vote!!!

I vote. I pretty much always have. I've missed a couple of Primary elections, but have been solid on the General ones. I haven't voted yet (I don't believe in early voting) but I'm set to vote on Tuesday.

In 2000, only a little over 500 votes in Florida determined the outcome of the nationwide election, and there have been many such close elections since then, so you can no longer say your vote doesn't count or won't be missed.

I had a thread about this a few weeks ago, that said I did go and vote.

Yeah.... OK.
Then who's vote DOES matter?
And why did you waste your time?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Not only do I vote, I now have a +1 since my son turned 18. Now I get to cancel out one liberal, and actually vote one up on said liberal.

I have not been able to vote for years, because it is not safe yet. Have had to keep my address confidential for many years, due to some safety problems. My DMV information has been repeatedly been illegally accessed before, almost got killed because of this. Most likely my home address would be compromised as well, so it is not safe to register to vote. Hoping we get our Second Amendment rights back in California so I have a fighting chance. Maybe then I will vote again.

Thinking that your vote doesn't count because you live in an overwhelmingly liberal area is exactly what the media wants you to think. That is how they depress conservative voters and suppress the vote.
Trump was one of the first to surprise them.

Do me a solid, and explain yourself.

The entire statement, in detail.

Voted to be ruled, you say?

I can't say I've read a more offensive thing on here in a long time. I also don't see any rationale you present, making you popular with anyone who will read it.

So by all means, please elaborate.

There is a healthy dose of context there, and I'm a fan of Carlin. I want to know what Fender meant.

Nobody needs to get too clever.

129. That's all that separated Dino Rossi from Christine Gregoire in the 2004 governor's election here in Washington.

Sir, do we need to worry about your safety? Is there a reason you are being targeted? Is it safe for you to post here?
