Trump should have sent his personal 757, with the Trump name emblazoned on side to pick his carcass up for the flight back to DC. The ultimate parting FU. "Hold my beer.....Watch this".

I think dignity and grace in the face of pettiness is the best parting shot. Any fair minded person, even those who are not so fair minded, can see the contrast and know who each man was. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

That’s true. You don’t want to really piss off the other Rinos by pulling a stunt like sending the Trump 757 for McCain.

Damn near impossible to completely avoid, even if only for a moment. Biden dabbing at his eye, maybe a half second, burned in my mind now. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

The janitor cleaning the Capitol crappers for 30 years deserves more reverence than that little man John McCain. It is very simple. This is all a dig at Trump. Once McCain became an opponent of President Trump, the press became much kinder to him. Add in his thumbs down on the reversal of Obamacare, and the RINO became the left's favorite Republican. He became what the press deemed as the perfect Republican; a Trump opponent who espoused leftist ideas. I haven't watched a thing, but I have expected nothing else from the media. Sounds like a shitshow. I tried to tell y'all the other day that the US Open (tennis) is on ESPN. Just don't turn on the TV before 11:00 am Eastern... I haven't seen one second of that front-hole's funeral proceedings. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

That's all true. John McCain is the poster child for what the Big Media Press thinks all Republicans should be: someone who moves the Republican Party to the left. It sends a message to every Republican: You want accolades? You want to get along? You want life to be easy? Move to the left.... and Join us in the swamp. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

McCain deserves respect for his military service and as a fellow vet I salute him. But politically the man was a damn RINO. He was one cell short of being a full blown liberal.

Classic case of the left trying to show how warm, tolerant, and embracing of a political opponent they are. Except he was really one of them. Any tears are because the replacement may not be a "maverick". Between this and Aretha Franklin's all day blues concert, my gag reflex is about shot.

I respect his military service but, Thank goodness I have a TiVO with a bunch of John Wayne movies saved so I don't have to watch the non-stop canonization show on this rainy week. CMSGT USAF (Retired) Chief of Police (Retired)

Staring back from the abyss |
It's almost sad that what looks to be only about 37 people showed up outside the cathedral or along the "motorcade" route. Maybe you weren't as well-loved and respected as you thought, eh Johnny? And an invitation only funeral? Who does that? I don't want to disrespect anyone's service to this country, but it seems as though he lived off this for the last 50 years. It's like the guy who peaked in high school still wanting to talk about his great exploits as the high school football star decades later. McCain rode his Vietnam horse until it fell over from exhaustion, then he fed off the carcass like a giant maggot. Enough. .
