I'm going up to Denison, Texas (60 miles) to take my Best Friend and his wife to dinner on Tuesday the 26th (early because of scheduling issues). Don't know what, if anything, I'll do on Thanksgiving Day.

Let’s see... MIL in MD (330 miles), rest of family in NY (520 miles)... I’m looking forward to a good old fashioned NC Thanksgiving. I try to avoid the I95 corridor during holidays, especially Thanksgiving.

My wife and I are going to Cracker Barrel, this will be our 4th year of having our T-Day meal at the Barrel. We have gone to two different ones in the past, really have enjoyed the meal. Then we take a Chocolate Pecan pie home... my favorite pie!

Between the kitchen and the living room (TV and Football). I can’t even remember the last time I even went outside on Thanksgiving. No better time to stay off the roads and highways, unless of course it’s a short trip to the range to shoot something. Big Grin

We've had a tradition for the last 30 years or so. Hunting in the morning with my best friend, then to my brother's house (about 25 miles away) for a family gathering in the afternoon.

My first Thanksgiving in China was at a Hot Pot place in Chengdu that was done up in a Cultural Revolution motif. The staff wore period-correct uniforms, lots of old school propaganda murals on the wall and the food was beyond great. Of course, the irony was that, back then not too many people ate very well, certainly not the type of gluttony we experienced. Very interesting place though.

Driving 17 miles to an upcountry restaurant. A young couple I’m hosting live up that way and have a two year old who will be up past his normal bedtime as it is. My own kids don’t live here but they have friends who do. They fill in for my family and I fill in for their parents.

We will be going back up to NoVa to spend a few days with the grandkids. Wife will be cooking as always. Will head back early Saturday morning hopefully to beat a little of the south bound traffic. Its 350 miles round trip.

1000 miles, one way.

Me and the kid are going to see my parents in Franklin NC. Literally it’s 1k miles from our door to theirs . I drove it back in June in one day and I said I’d never do that again...we are gonna layover in Jackson MS.

Wish me luck

We're staying home, but the kids & grandkids are coming here for Thanksgiving dinner, as usual.

According to Google Maps, 844 miles one-way. Flying mother and myself to see my newly retired brother and SIL in the brand new house they just moved into about 2 weeks ago. Really happy for them!!! Big Grin

I voted "no plans".
I do have a half assed plan to go to my Aunt's house but I'm not sure if I'm going to follow through. A good part of me wants to just stay home and do my own thing.
I bought a smaller turkey breast to smoke and may do it on Thanksgiving.
