My normal 15 minute commute to work. I'll drop the dogs off at my parents house before work, and the gf is going to her parents (about 30 mins away for the day). I'll be doing my normal shift, and hopefully we don't get any stupid calls or domestics.

Staying home with my wife, son is joining us. Small event, but looking forward to it. I'll be doing the cooking, except for the turkey, getting a smoked one from our local BBQ place on that afternoon.

15 minute drive to my S-I-L's. Hopefully her husband isn't in one of his shit stirring moods. 4 of my wife's other 5 siblings have figured out excuses to bail this year. Wish I'd figured one out, too. Roll Eyes

Working, so 40 or so miles round trip.

Headed to my parents the next day before work. 200 miles up and back. Then probably doing another 250 the next day to see my son sing the National Anthem for an event. Then work...again. Just finished #3 of 9 nights.

This is the first time in a long while that I'm driving distance from my family in San Antonio, so I'm doing golf at La Cantera with my brother in the morning, and my youngest niece is preparing dinner for her first time. This is gonna be interesting (so Popeye's is an option I considered).

I'm actually walking about 150 yards to my brothers house, where I will fry a couple of turkeys for our large family gathering.

Well, it appears that I am traveling for Thanksgiving, after all. I had expected to just go to a local restaurant for a turkey meal, but one of the Choir members called me today and invited me to accompany her family to a family dinner in east Texas, and I accepted. It's about a 2-hour drive, so I presume it's about 100 miles or so.

I was told I didn't need to take anything, but I'm never comfortable with that, so I'm taking a small gift for the home (2 of my cobalt glass tumblers that I've accumulated over the years--they seem to be well accepted wherever I've taken them).

I had driven up to Denison, Texas on Tuesday (60 miles) to take my Best Friend and his wife to dinner for an early Thanksgiving. (He's a cop and she's a nurse and finding a time when they're both available is not easy.) It was a good visit, even though none of us had a traditional turkey dinner. (Mine was a 2-meat combination--chicken fried steak and chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, and green beans; peach cobbler for dessert.)

220 miles one way, 150 miles to attend my uncle’s funeral on Friday, and then 260 miles to get back home.

Stay safe out there!
