Let’s just be real, Chris krispy is just there for the shrimp cocktail and hors d’oeuvres. He is as viable a candidate as I am. Cmon man embrace reality. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Do the next right thing |
He might be banking on Trump being unviable for some reason and hoping to be able to step in as the heir apparent. What seems obvious to me is that he's playing a role and there's a different angle to his candidacy. I don't trust him. He's not trying to overtake Trump. He's trying to replace him.

His answer to Bill Maher on the accusation of him angling for the VP slot was pretty fricking awesome. We will see how it plays out but it was a pretty amazing answer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

I think a lot comes down to their prior experience and how much influence they can wield. A guy like Dan Quayle and Mike Pence were milquetoast personalities, they had zero force or, gravitas, their government time prior to being VP really didn't amount to much when it came to influencing issues when they were VP. Al Gore was utterly wooden and stiff, his prior career as a representative and senator from TN I believe was largely unremarkable, with a couple of attempts at running for POTUS in-between. A guy like Richard Nixon, his public career spanned being a representative from CA, being Eisenhower's VP, to succeeding Johnson, with a couple of breaks in-between. His personality was full of quirks but, he was charismatic enough that it stuck to people. LBJ, despite clashing with Kennedy leveraged his time in the Senate to rally and ram-home a number of bills.

The one thing I'd like to see Vivek do in upcoming debates is to remain more calm, cool, collected, and clearly articulate his thoughts like he does in his normal interviews. Don't let the attacks get to him as much. He can easily defend against them using his vision. I realize that is MUCH easier to say than to do. I think that'll be a big help to him. Still stay witty and aggressive, but just a bit more statesmanlike.

Vivek was recently, if not briefly on Colion Noir's podcast as well. Smart, articulate and not burdened with political rhetoric, he says all the right things for somebody who's shot guns but, is not an enthusiast or, 'gun guy'.

The media knives have started coming out. I'd say Vivek is firmly over target. I would be more than pleased to have him as a VP with Trump or as President. The attacks from the right and left make me think he would be a decent VP. Hell, he can’t be worse than Pence. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Other than the current one, it is hard to think of a lower bar. ETA: I don’t know if VP is the right spot for him, particularly based on his comments around 33:30 of the Club Random interview w/ Bill Mar that chellim1 posted two. I would like to see him continue to work to effect positive change, perhaps as a part of President Trump’s administration, perhaps as a cooperating outsider, for the next four years, then run again in 2028 based on what he has accomplished. I really like what I hear from him. Before voting for him in 2028, I like to see some results from him as well.

I’d take him over any career politician. Trump wasn’t a politician and the country was way better off while he was in office. I’m done with polished politicians who are really just professional thieves and liars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

He's not going to be the nominee (2024) but he certainly is raising his profile. He has a lot more people talking than DeSantis does of late. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor
