A video of Rep. Louie Gohmert that is worth watching. Somebody gets it. https://www.bizpacreview.com/2...t-much-longer-753238 "Rep. Louie Gohmert ripped the “attempted coup” against President Donald Trump and warned that “we’re not going to last much longer” if those behind it don’t go to jail." ______________________________________________________ "You get much farther with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone."

I believe it requires a court order to obtain tax returns--a subpoena is not sufficient. And the law only allows Congress to get them if there is a clear legislative need (I have read). I doubt that a purely political request (which this is) would be honored by a court. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Would really like to see Mueller testifying before the Senate. The book is written on Trump collusion. Nothing prosecutable was found in 2.5 years, nothing would change with his testimony. Now I have many questions for Mueller on things he did not investigate concerning Russia contacts. “We’re in a situation where we have put together, and you guys did it for our administration…President Obama’s administration before this. Also in the news leftist are boycotting fireworks because orange man bad and they've found all the safe spaces are overloaded at fourth of July. Due to all the toxic masculinity associated with things that go bang or boom they are warning of a crisis of people being left with no where to feel safe. [/Satire] I can't wait to see how they freak out over our president speaking on the birthday of the country he heads. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

From THE HILL: Trump: It would be 'appropriate' for me to talk to DOJ about investigating Biden >> https://thehill.com/homenews/c...-about-investigating +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ From POLITICO: Trump: Discussing a Biden probe with Barr would be 'appropriate' >> https://www.politico.com/story...ukraine-barr-1317601 ============================================= Now getting the horse correctly before the cart! - Yes! 1. Just had to post this: Buttigieg responds to Trump calling him “Alfred E. Neuman”: “I had to Google that” Although technically IIRC (as a regular Mad Magazine reader in high school), it’s “The What-Me-Worry Kid”. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

From the second link in HighZonie’s post above: “Past Republican and Democratic administrations alike have recognized the critical importance of the wall of separation between the White House and DOJ when it comes to criminal investigations,” said Matt Axelrod, a former senior Obama Justice Department official. “This president’s belief that he can instruct the Attorney General to investigate his political rival is a wild break from past precedent and would represent a dangerous assault on the rule of law.” Gosh, other than OBlunder, where would be the precedent? ETA: And I guess OBlunder wouldn’t really be a precedent, as PDJT is just suggesting a direct, transparent DOJ investigation instead of a full fledged assault using domestic and foreign counterintelligence assets.

"From Andy McCarthy, who is no longer beating around the bush" that's for sure. McCarthy at one time was very defensive of the FBI/DoJ. Back in July 2018 he finally realized what was going on and wrote this article: https://www.nationalreview.com...-fbi-steele-dossier/ I observed that the newly disclosed FISA applications are so shoddy that the judges who approved them ought to be asked some hard questions. I prefaced my remark about the judges with an acknowledgment of my own personal embarrassment When people started theorizing that the FBI had presented the Steele dossier to the FISA court as evidence, I told them they were crazy: The FBI, which I can’t help thinking of as my FBI after 20 years of working closely with the bureau as a federal prosecutor, would never take an unverified screed and present it to a court as evidence It turns out, however, that the crazies were right and I was wrong. The FBI (and, I’m even more sad to say, my Justice Department) brought the FISA court the Steele-dossier allegations, relying on Steele’s credibility without verifying his information. I am embarrassed by this not just because I assured people it could not have happened, and not just because it is so beneath the bureau — especially in a politically fraught case in which the brass green-lighted the investigation of a presidential campaign. I am embarrassed because what happened here flouts rudimentary investigative standards xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx But McCarthy's eyes are wide open now. One has to respect someone who acknowledges a change of position as new facts come to light.
