I hope he does not resign. That will give the Democrats time to regroup and the media time to forget about this and will help the Democrat candidates in the next election. I think it would be better if he stayed and was the focus of the election next time. Having said that, I hate the gun-grabbing SOB and most, if not all of the Democrat party.

The media work hand-in-glove with lobbyists who dole out filthy lucre in Washington. Violate PC, and the media will pounce. If you are a politician, one thing that happens immediately as a result is that money stops flowing to you.

Another institution in this consortium is academia. Colleges and universities are now overwhelmingly Leftist. A clod who should be struggling for acceptance into a state school was recently accepted at Harvard--David Hogg-- for his political activity against the Second Amendment. It is not hard to imagine that a brilliant student who publicly violated PC, or whose parents violated PC-- and the media would trumpet such violation-- might be denied acceptance even at the state schools.

Corporations have become part of this unofficial consortium. Dedicated to profits, they are now-- bizarrely-- Leftist. Any employee of a corporation, even the CEO, will be trashed and fired for a public violation of PC.

There are now social media PC armies ready at an instant's notice to gang-attack anyone who violates PC. Northam is finding that out this instant. Gazillions of vile, ugly, insults and threats-- threats to himself, to his family-- for having appeared in black face 35 years ago.

So powerful are the sacred cows of PC-- "racism" foremost among them-- and by "racism" I mean anything that can be construed or misconstrued as racist-- so powerful are the sacred cows that recently a television celebrity, Megan Kelly, lost her 69 million dollar job because she said that maybe blackface is okay on Halloween if done by children in a merely playful and not malicious spirit. ZAP! Adios! Megastar no more. Overnight.

PC is so powerful because we all know that in any number of ways our lives-- and the lives of our families-- can in an instant be turned upside down and destroyed if we violate its tenets.

We live in an ongoing political Inquisition. The fires are always burning. Professors, my own occupation, are tossed in regular for defending free speech, or for questioning global warming.

Solzhenitsyn tells us at the beginning of The Gulag Archipelago that when even a minor communist official was recognized for some achievement and applauded at a town meeting, everyone was so terrified of being the first to stop applauding that the applause would go on and on... five minutes... ten minutes... everyone in the room standing for a half hour of continuous applause! Because everyone's watching!

That is Politically Correct America in 2019. Everyone is watching. Say something non-PC in public, make a forbidden joke, simply slip up-- and your life will be ruined. That is part of the reason for the tsunami of social media messages denouncing Northam. --Didn't you put out a message? Why not? Don't you hate racism?

This is a big part of the hatred for Donald Trump. He is non-PC. They try to destroy him for it, but nothing works.

He doesn't merely violate PC, he tells it to go shit in its hat.

That is how to fight it. Brutal and unapologetic honesty. Another great example of someone who is doing it-- someone we can emulate in our own way-- is Jordan Peterson. And there are other public figures out there. James Woods, for instance.

Don't be steamrolled or cowed. Most of those toeing the PC party line know that it is bullshit, they are just frightened.
