Victim of Life's Circumstances |
Happened yesterday in Indianapolis. My search turned up nothing. https://www.wthr.com/article/n...72-b5fb-573be0e589ef FTA: Shay told her grandma she'd gone to the restroom and was going back into the food court when she spotted the gunman coming out of the bathroom. "She said she had that sick feeling like look behind her or beside her and he (the mall shooter) was walking out behind her and she said, 'Grandma I seen a long gun' and then all of a sudden Eli told her get down and pushed her and she said it went from there." Shay hid behind a kiosk. Then investigators said Eli, within seconds, stopped the suspect. They tell 13News the 22-year-old pulled out the pistol he was carrying under the "Constitutional Carry" law, steadied himself against a pole and fired ten rounds at the gunman from about 40 yards away. The suspect tried to go back into the bathroom, but instead fell to the ground. "His actions were nothing short of heroic. He engaged the gunman from quite a distance with a handgun. Was very proficient in that, was tactically sound and as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him," Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said about Eli's actions. "Many people would have died last night if not for a responsible armed citizen that took action very quickly within the first two minutes of this shooting." Police said Eli learned to shoot from his grandfather and that he had no military or police training... ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

40 yards yep, I'm wondering if people overestimated the distance. Could be a budding NRA bullseye shooter, and those guys can group at 50 yards better than most people at 10.

Imagination and focus become reality |
I have been reading stories today that say that the hero shooter should not be called a Good Samaritan. Shannon Watts and some other morons are in a sense disparaging the saving of lives. Another story I read stated that a bystander confronting an active shooter is rare. Out of 421 mass shootings since 2020 only 22 were interrupted by a bystander, of which 10 were either security guards or off duty LEO. I wonder why they didn't mention how many of those shootings occurred in gun free zones where it was illegal to carry a gun. Also, they had to mention that the Mall in Greenwood had a policy for no weapons allowed. So why bring that up? Assholes! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Ogie,

Good. I'm glad this person was there, and lawfully carrying in order to end this tragic situation much sooner and mitigate any loss of life that, to remind all the idiots out there, THE BAD GUY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR. On some of the internet sites I go to for laughter at the opposite viewpoint... People there are almost sick with hatred that this was stopped by a lawfully carrying citizen. They seem to WANT a huge tragedy just to have their damn fool ideals validated. It's really sad. The grabbers are pissed. In many ways it's amusing, but really it's sad and kind of scary. There's people out there, not just fringe kooks, who see this and think "goddamnit, that guy broke the rules of the mall! He shouldn't have done that!" They want a big bodycount. It tells me that, at best, it's just a game to them, and they're upset their team didn't get to score some points here.

Did Eli empty a 10 round 43x mag at him? I can hear R. Lee Ermey now, "he picked the wrong mall".

Brave young man seems to have his shit squared away and is cool under some very intense pressure. Thank you for the untold lives you saved and sparing the rest from a lifetime of horrible memories. Be proud, you did the right thing.

As others have said, impressive performance under very stressful circumstances. I'd be curious what his set up was and how he had trained/practiced.

The same type of response was common after the guy at the church in Texas used his 357 SIG P229 to stop the shooter with a shotgun. “Oh, he was not your average concealed carrier. When those five or six other people drew their guns in response to the shootings, that was terrifying.” These responses should serve as reminders that nothing matters to that crowd except that all private possession of firearms be banned, totally. They will never be satisfied with anything less, and we gun owners fail to understand that at the peril of our rights. The “good guy with a gun” argument is worse than useless with them because their immediate rejoinder is, “If no one had guns, there would be no need for ‘good guys’ with guns.” Even more risible was the trumpeted, “Now the Democrats know better than to touch that third rail of gun control.” Willful ignorance is not how we are going to hold back the tide. Some years ago Dillon Precision used to admonish on their catalogs, “Vote like a gun owner.” If every gun owner voted that way, the threat to our rights would disappear overnight and not surface again for generations. Unfortunately, though, most gun owners don’t even understand what the threats are, much less do they vote to eliminate the threats. ► 6.4/93.6

Suddenly the leftists are familiar with the Bible, and are busy telling us what a Good Samaritan is, and bloviating how this kid isn’t one. Wow, I didn’t know these assholes were so religious. I wish they’d explain Jeremiah 1:5 in light of a recent SCOTUS ruling.
Good on this man for stopping the rampage. Now, do you think the mall will rethink its no guns policy, or will they retain it even as they praise the young man for stopping the shooting? Demand not that events should happen as you wish; but wish them to happen as they do happen, and you will go on well. -Epictetus

Yes, Baltimore County Range in the late 60's. We shot outdoors in the summer time at 50 yards. The only one that had higher scores was a MD State Trooper. 41
