Appears to be SOP these days. Another example was Jack Wilson who took out the shooter in the West Freeway Church of Christ Shooting.

Wilson was part of his church's volunteer security team and neutralized the threat w/ one shot from his P229 Legion in .357Sig. The church service was livestreamed, so the entire incident was captured on video.

The case for SD was clear as day. The active shooter incident occurred on 29 Dec 2019. It wasn't until 28 Sept 2020 the Grand Jury no-billed Wilson and returned him his gun.

If it takes this long to no-bill the most clear-cut SD shooters in gun-friendly states like TX & IN, imagine how long it must take in gun-restrictive states.
