I sure as hell don't. We're moving, and my wife is a more efficient taskmaster than I ever was! I do not miss morning meetings, deadlines and ambiguous requirements. I do not want to return to work. Ever.

No, I don't miss it. I worked to make a decent living and some of it was kinda fun, but I enjoy too many hobbies and I like my personal time.

Not a bit, other than I do miss most of the people I worked with…but not enough to consider going back to work! Every day is Saturday!

Not one little tiny bit. Best thing I ever did. It was a private sector job. Never worked for da county, state or feds. Also the best thing I ever did. Learned a lot. Didn't make a lot of money, but enough. Helped a lot of people in private sector business be successful. So it was rewarding. But was glad to be free to do whatever I wanted. Still doing it.

Don't miss it, lot less stress.

I used to like my job, for a lot of years. Then over the last year or so that I was there, they started changing things in ways I wasn't happy with. And I was living in an increasingly blue state. I decided "screw it", retired a little early and moved to a much redder state. I'm much more relaxed now. No, I don't miss it at all.

I seem to be the odd man out in this group. I have said when people asked about my career, that I always had fun and interesting jobs (two seperate 20 year careers). The last 15 after the 20 year careers was a 1099 federal background investigator. It was interesting, but it was NOT fun.

Do I miss the first two? Yes, would I do them again? Yes. My mind is willing but I recognize the body is no longer up to the task, memories will have to suffice,

Outside the Navy, I don't miss any of the people either. In some cases, the people were what drove me out.

There are some Navy buddies I miss, but that was 40+ years ago and we all know memories are fonder than actuality.

I LOVE being able to (pretty much...) do What I want, WHEN I want. It has spoiled me for ever working on a schedule again.

I am fortunate to be consulting in my field, post retirement. Just enough to pay for toys. So, I don't miss work.

I was in IT Architecture establishing standards and strategy. My focus and background was infrastructure (data centers, servers, OS, networks and systems management). It got tiresome explaining why standards and security are necessary in a financial services company. I left over 5 years ago and the same battles are continuing. I am very happy to have missed them.

I had a career but I also maintained many interests outside of work. Retirement has allowed me to pursue those in addition to helping manage some projects at my sportmen's club. Life is good in retirement.

I don't miss the schedule or most of the people but I do miss some of the work. I'm picking up more consulting work and I like earning money so I'm happy.

I kind of miss the steady paycheck.

Although it’s been 38 years, I still think about some of the satisfaction I got from what I did in the Army. Then 20+ years ago I got a part time job that also gave me a lot of satisfaction for a couple of more decades.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end and I’m adjusting to that as it’s ending not with a bang but with a whimper.

Fortunately 22 Long Rifle ammunition and a place to shoot it don’t cost much, neither do the Internet and books.
