Well, it took far too long, but it'll do just fine.

Adios, you confused child. You did it to yourself.

Hopefully DOD goes after the cost of the West Point education as well.

Excellent news. I had read on a blog earlier this week that he was being dismissed but didn't feel it was reliable enough to post. Good to see this confirmation. I also confirmed that he is going to be a featured speaker at the 'Socialism 2018' conference.

fool..
from the article posted about his dismissal.

"LTC Robert Heffington was a West Point teacher who had numerous negative encounters with Rapone and after learning that the cadet was a Marxist, wrote a sworn statement about his concerns. It reads in part:

'At, best, Cadet Rapone’s online ideological screeds reveal the philosophical infatuations of a precocious adolescent, rather like a school boy who cannot stop spouting off about Nietzsche. The “misunderstood” and “persecuted” young genius shouts truth to power by cobbling together ideas and quotations popping up in chat rooms or on Facebook walls, certain that his provocative and shocking proclamations will, based solely upon their vehemence and sarcasm, demonstrate both the profound sincerity and the unassailable correctness of his viewpoints. This phase tends to be ephemeral, the erstwhile youthful firebrand eventually emerging from the self adulatory fog after eye-opening encounter with equally brilliant people articulating cogent, well-supported, and entirely contrary arguments, or having gained sufficient life experience to illustrate the fundamental interpretive emptiness that renders any strictly Manichaean worldview emotional unfulfilling and analytical bankrupt. At worst, however, Cadet Rapone’s statements bespeak either a severe mental or psychological disorder, or a genuine commitment to values and ideals wholly at odds with those of West Point and the Army.'"

a devastating, if still kind, assessment of this fool.

That would be too civil. He's lucky I'm not in charge of discipline...I would make stupid hurt, with extreme prejudice.

The well documented encounter he had with LTC Heffington is what brought down this anti-American sack of shit.

Karl Marx Junior did it to himself.

This part was interesting:

"A recently retired CIA officer remarked to SOFREP that right now our counter-intelligence is so bad that we are only catching the dumb ones, the people stupid enough to out themselves on social media or who mail classified documents to news outlets, leading one to wonder how many more are out there that our government is completely unaware of."

As he obviously lied with regard to his oath of office, the Army needs to officially revoke his commission. Immediately.

What puzzles me is how in hell he was ever allowed to reach the senior class at West Point in the first place. Let alone actually graduate!

Is, was, the Point that screwed up?!?

Has it gotten any better?

When I was in the army as a NCO, we used to get a bunch of cadets assigned for summer training in combat units. 3AD in Frankfurt.

Never had a bad one. Also had a number of graduates on their first active duty assignments. Never had a bad one.

Back to my original question: Has the Point actually gotten that bad?

And if so, how in hell is it going to get restored?

With emphasis on "a bit".

Should have been dishonorable.

Officers can't be given a BCD or worse discharge. They recieve a dismissal letter, which is really just the same thing.

Since he was prior enlisted, take away his commission, bust him down to private, then give him a dishonorable.

"Other than dishonorable" isn't that big of a deal. IIRC, it's just administrative and doesn't take away any benefits like VA house or education benefits.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
