With emphasis on "a bit".

Should have been dishonorable.

Officers can't be given a BCD or worse discharge. They recieve a dismissal letter, which is really just the same thing.

Since he was prior enlisted, take away his commission, bust him down to private, then give him a dishonorable.

"Other than dishonorable" isn't that big of a deal. IIRC, it's just administrative and doesn't take away any benefits like VA house or education benefits.

Thats not true- from the article:
“Recently, Spenser Rapone re-tweeted a post on Twitter which announced that he would be speaking at a socialist event in July as he was being processed out of the Army this June with an other than honorable discharge. This was likely the harshest punishment the Army could give Rapone unless they decided to charge him with something like sedition. With an other than honorable discharge, Rapone will not be entitled to VA benefits, the GI Bill, and may have difficulties in finding employment.”
Shouldnt have a problem getting a job in the media though...

That's OK. With our 21st Century attention spans poster boys tend to come and go in the blink of an eye. He'll have to find honest work or go tripping off to the Donesk sooner rather than later.

And love his one finger salute going out the gate at Drum. Hopefully that kickstarts a process where West Point garnishes his future wages to recover the cost of his wasted education. Ive seen numbers as high as 80k annually for a USMA education.

Suck it you little bitch.

Is, was, the Point that screwed up?!?

Has it gotten any better?

When I was in the army as a NCO, we used to get a bunch of cadets assigned for summer training in combat units. 3AD in Frankfurt.

Never had a bad one. Also had a number of graduates on their first active duty assignments. Never had a bad one.

Back to my original question: Has the Point actually gotten that bad?

And if so, how in hell is it going to get restored?

Yes, our Military Academies are a mess. We have some work to do over the next few years - and the right person in office to do it.

Dishonorable:

bringing shame or disgrace on someone or something.
"his crime is dishonorable"

synonyms: disgraceful, shameful, disreputable, discreditable, degrading, ignominious, ignoble, blameworthy, contemptible, despicable, reprehensible, shabby, shoddy, sordid, sorry, base, low, improper, unseemly, unworthy

Yup. Today's proud product of elitism and entitlement.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown
