"Feder later learned that police had even deployed a drone overhead during the operation." Perfect! No wait. A drone AND K-9s. THAT would have been perfect.

Flock's Surveillance Cameras Face Another Blow as LAPD Won't Renew The Contract Thirty-nine Flock contracts were terminated in the first five months of 2026. https://www.military.com/flock...bUBnbWFpbC5jb206bWx0 The United States' third-largest police force has let its contract with Flock Safety expire. On July 11, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)—which, until recently, was one of Flock's largest government customers—walked away from their contract. They cited that it wasn't about cost; rather, they walked away due to data ownership. "This contract is not being renewed because of serious concerns around civil liberties and civil rights issues, particularly around privacy and the data that is being collected from these cameras," Dean Gialamas, the department's chief information officer, told ABC7 after the decision was made public. The LAPD will stay out, Gialamas said, until questions about data, privacy, security and sharing could be "ironed out through a contractual relationship." _________________________

I'm getting the impression that the LAPD is upset that a "civilian" owns the data and can use it in whichever manner they wish. I suspect if they can "iron out" that the LAPD can own the data and use it in whichever manner they wish, they will no longer have issues with the civil liberties, civil rights, or privacy aspects.

Replace Flock cameras with Glock cameras. The camera witnesses crime being committed, and bangbangbang, shoot to kill. Now, I'll admit that's excessive for offenses like littering. Every new system needs a bit of tweaking but you can bet your bottom dollar that wherever Glock cameras are installed, people will adhere to the law. Blow away a couple of jaywalkers and people will get the idea. In high crime areas, such as inner-city Chicago, Glock cameras will be equipped with Glock switches and the new Glock infinite capacity magazine system, sporting ten thousand round drums. Naturally, the youths will try stealing these switched Glocks and their ammunition, which is why Glock cameras will always be installed in pairs, so they can watch one another.

I'm more concerned when I'm asked to click on one of those privacy statements on a web page I might be considering. All that tiny type hides authorization to collect/track your activity. It could be that you're also giving permission to be shot at by a Glock camera. Food for thought

Glock cameras would be banned in a New York minute, you'd have every D politician out there stating they were dangerous, a violation of liberty, tracking minorities, they'd never be allowed to exist in Blue States LOL

I wonder if the Glock cameras will have standard magazine capacity or the magical 10 round mags that are not capable of hurting innocent people? "Prepared in mind and resources"

The system is still learning; some minor mistakes are bound to happen… just needs a few tweaks here and there and we’ll be in a utopian dream. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown
