The ultimate in pearl-clutching. https://twitter.com/alx/status/1734232000381280566 "every person who dies"?? The latest stats indicate that, globally, approximately 150,000 people die each day. It's all on you, Elon. .

Talk about a break from reality. Wow. I wonder if they ever have the mental strength to apply the same level of blame to people like the trans shooter who obviously was insane? Maybe it’s a similar level of mental illness that is incapable of self reflection and critical thinking? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

The NRA has become a joke. Which is embarrassing to state as a life member. In addition to at least a Premium X membership I suggest starting a monthly donation to the following organizations that are AGRESSIVELY fighting (and winning) for our Second Amendment rights. Second Amendment Foundation Gun Owners of America Gun Owners Foundation Firearms Policy Coalition California Specific groups: California Rifle and Pistol Association Gun Owners of California https://x.com/MorosKostas/stat...668851226284393?s=20

What does the NRA have to do with this discussion? "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher

Let's take it easy on the troll stuff, huh? Lots of members read the board regularly but rarely, if ever, post. Let's be polite until there is reason to not be polite. I don't see anything like that yet. _______________________________________________ “What sickens me about left-wing people, especially the intellectuals, is their utter ignorance of the way things actually happen.” ~ George Orwell "That's one thing about intellectuals. I think the poster is following the logic of supporting those that fight for the 1st amendment to supporting those that fight for the 2nd. And the NRA has been drifting to the "DINO" Defender's In Name Only territory for years. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא עוד

Brazil shuts down Twitter. I still can't call it X for whatever reason. And because Elon won't bend the knee to Brazilian govt censorship they shut down bank payments to Starlink as well. Elon decided we'll continue the satellite service for free to Brazil. That's what you can do when you have FU money for real. Elon truly believes in free speech. I couldn’t either until I read a hit piece smearing Musk where the author said something to the effect of “I will never call it X, that’s a disservice to Jack Dorsey and his vision for Twitter.” Suddenly it became much easier to call it X. I don’t think it’s a great name, but it’s Musk differentiating that this is not Twitter anymore. I can get on board with that. ______________________________________________ "If the truth shall kill them, let them die.” Endeavoring to master the subtle art of the grapefruit spoon.

OLD THREAD ALERT! But the EU is still going after Twitter: Anti-Free-Speech War Escalates As EU Unleashes DSA On Musk's X For years, many in the free speech community (most vehemently, Jonathan Turley) have warned about the threat of the European Union to free speech, particularly in the enactment of the infamous Digital Services Act (DSA). So It Begins: The European Union Unleashes the DSA on X with Initial $140 Million Fine https://jonathanturley.org/202...al-140-million-fine/ The EU has virtually declared war on free speech and is targeting American companies. That war just began with the first DSA fine. Not surprisingly, X was the chosen target - a company blamed by many in the EU and the U.S. for rolling back free-speech protections. In essence, it’s punishment for not bending the knee to the EU’s iron-fisted control over online content. As Modernity.news' Steve Watson points out, the fine reeks of the same vindictive playbook the EU has used since Musk took over Twitter in 2022. It’s no coincidence; Brussels has been gunning for him precisely because he’s turned the platform into a haven for unfiltered discourse, refusing to censor at the whim of unelected technocrats. This isn’t a one-off slap; it’s the culmination of years of threats and harassment. Back in January 2023, EU Commission Vice-President Vera Jourová openly warned Musk that his “freedom of speech absolutism” wouldn’t fly, declaring the “time of the Wild West is over” and threatening sanctions if Twitter didn’t comply with DSA rules. She conflated illegal content with anything the elites deem offensive, setting the stage for today’s fine. In October 2023, EU Commissioner Thierry Breton fired off a letter demanding X address “illegal content and disinformation” related to the Gaza conflict. Musk fired back, demanding a specific list of violations so the public could judge for themselves. Breton’s vague accusations—citing repurposed images and unverified claims—highlighted the EU’s preference for opacity over accountability. Musk called it out: “List the violations you allude to on X, so that the public can see them.” The EU’s response was not forthcoming, but the threats continued. Further, Musk brings receipts showing the European Union sent him a formal letter demanding that he censor Donald Trump during the 2024 US presidential election. https://www.zerohedge.com/geop...nleashes-dsa-musks-x "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

Musk is a dildo for sure, but hopefully this administration can persuade the EU to back off.

Baroque Bloke![]() |
^^^^^ Personally, I don’t think “Musk is a dildo.” “Elon Musk was left fuming at the European Union as its executive branch fined his social media platform X $140 million after claiming it failed to comply with transparency rules. 'The EU should be abolished and sovereignty returned to individual countries,' Musk wrote Saturday morning on X. He said this should happen 'so that governments can better represent their people.' Hours later, Musk asked: 'How long before the EU is gone?' …” DailyMail article: https://mol.im/a/15359799 Serious about crackers.

If I had an account on his platform, I'd just suggest to him that he just ought to buy the EU. s. _______________________________________________________________________ Don't Ask The Tyrants Why They Commit Tyranny, Ask The Slaves Why They Kneel

From the document "National Security Strategy of the United States of America November 2025": "...Continental Europe has been losing share of global GDP—down from 25 percent in 1990 to 14 percent today—partly owing to national and transnational regulations that undermine creativity and industriousness But this economic decline is eclipsed by the real and more stark prospect of civilizational erasure. The larger issues facing Europe include activities of the European Union and other transnational bodies that undermine political liberty and sovereignty, migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating strife, censorship of free speech and suppression of political opposition, cratering birthrates, and loss of national identities and self-confidence. Should present trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less. As such, it is far from obvious whether certain European countries will have economies and militaries strong enough to remain reliable allies. Many of these nations are currently doubling down on their present path. We want Europe to remain European, to regain its civilizational self-confidence, and to abandon its failed focus on regulatory suffocation..."
