that with nothing more than routine maintenance, that being fluid changes, brakes, wipers, filters, tires, the thing would be dead nuts reliable would you have??? No worries about expensive electronics, motors, transmissions, 4wd/AWD, going out all of it just flat works as intended.

For me it would be a Silver 2001 BWM 740iL Sport.
If cmr076 would allow an old junker in the midst of all the big boys he works with I would have him do some work to it because keeping things stock just is not fun.

The reason I ask is because I saw one today with a beautiful set of BBS wheels on it and man that long, low, and sleek look just makes me smile.
I have always loved the looks and comfort of that car. I can afford to buy the car just not keep it running and be reliable.

So what say you? What would you be driving?

An S550 Mustang with a Whipple! It would also have to have long tube headers, off road X pipe, one piece drive shaft, 1400 HP half shafts, BMR jacking rails and drag suspension. That would about do it!

The LS430s I've had were that and more besides. We still have the 2004 now, looks, runs, handles, great, a roomy comfortable car, 24 mpg albeit on premium fuel. I wouldn't think of getting rid of it.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Honestly I have no wants. I love my MDX as a daily and have a Porsche 911 for fun secondary daily duties.

Porsches tend to be very reliable. As the old saying goes Ferrari owners brag about how few miles they have on their cars. Porsche owners brag about how many miles they put on theirs.

I have always wanted:
Ford Mustang SSP. Police version of the Mustang. With a real trunk. It would be a fast but practical daily driver.

My wife drives a Porsche 911-4S and it is a blast to drive but with my combat injuries I have issues getting in and out of it. I drive my GMC 3500 Crew Cab dually but it is a beast for in town driving.

I believe, a new Toyota Land Cruiser would be the cat's meow. I have a 1977 FJ-40 Toyota Land Cruiser I am restoring but it is a very basic vehicle and would not be a good daily driver.

Looks like I found the high rent section of the forum.
OP asked about cars you can actually afford, and folks are throwing out $100K+ cars and trucks like they're candy.

My MDX is very affordable for what you get.

My Porsche was used as was my first and was cheaper then a high end Mustang.

Another Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab or 4 doors to replace my 09 standard cab 4X2...not spent a dime on it except fluid changes, battery, things like wiper blades and tires. It has been a very dependable vehicle from day one. It's also a fun truck to drive.
