Haha, thanks. If anyone is feeling mischievous as well, put on your favorite Halloween mask, or even a Zorro mask and go out. Smile

Ha, gift from the wife. It’s a photo of Smokey the Bear with Abs and says, “Only you can prevent dad bods”.

Hint: 3M disposable P100's are readily available from auto paint supply stores; they look just like the N95's

What's the diff? The 100 means it filters better than 99.8% of >.3 micron particulates, and the P indicates petroleum vapors won't damage the matrix. I just paid under $10 for a pkg of 3. Some local welding supply/gas stores carry them too

Ha! Nice. I hate the whole idea of the "dad bod." No excuse.

The china-19 measures 0.125 microns according to The National Library of Medicine.
My source 6 weeks ago said it was 0.150 microns. If it travels on the aerosols from coughing or sneezing which range in size from 0.5-3 micron-- that is in the masks capabilities, and the mask should be changed often. They do not define 'often'.

Do not necessarily attribute someone's nasty or inappropriate actions as intended when it may be explained by ignorance or stupidity.

You’re absolutely right. Most people are so non situationally aware that they actually didn’t notice the bright yellow mask.

Going food shopping today, I’ll wear it there too.

Thanks for the link, I just bought some of those.

I’ve been resisting buying any masks. I had some N95s in my wife’s get home kit but didn’t want to break those out unless necessary.

As I get closer to getting back to work and with Costco’s decision to require masks, I realize that I’m going to need something, especially considering I work peripheral to medical offices and that will probably be a requirement going forwards. I just bought some simple cloth masks from MUSA and some neck gaiters that I can pull up over my face in a pinch.

Friend of mine is a local commercial painter, they wear the P-100 respirators. He had to lock-up all the replacement cartridges as the guys were using them a bit more, than was realistic. Wink My understanding is they're good for a full-day's work when dealing with certain fumes, beyond that they can work for a few days, such as dealing with fiberglass, like shaping surfboards or, lots of wood sanding.

In general, the masks are there to prevent the wearer, who may be asymptomatic (infected but no signs) from spreading via mucous/saliva spread. Fabric masks with cotton have a thicker weave than synthetic so, theoretically, should hold whatever you expel out. The key is to wash after prolonged use, thus, buy multiple.
I got some of these, https://multicamgear.shop

GF refuses to wear camo so, I bought a bunch of these from a local gal https://www.timmymays.com/product-page...solid fabric, well made, good shaping and has kids sizes available. The ties are the older surgical style...think MASH, so no elastic ear loops but allows for adjusting depending on how you tie. Makes it easy if I have to drive around and make multiple stops, I can just untie the two up top and let it hang while I breath unmasked.

I will warn you these are a little thin compared to most. But for me and what I'm using them for they work.
