SIGforum's Indian Off the Reservation |
There have been a few: I met redstone many years ago as I was driving through his neck of the woods from MA to LA. We had a wonderful time at the highway Mickey D's. Truly a great guy! Met parallel when down in LA. Another awesome guy, and we had a wonderful meal at Drago's Seafood Restaurant. Then I met a bunch of folks at a CO SIGforum shoot in Ft. Morgan. I met r2mach1, Sweden (haven't seen him on the forum in awhile), e26r....., James in Denver (also been missing from the forum), and I am sure a couple of others. We had a great day shooting all kinds of pistols and rifles. I believe it was r2 that let me shoot his suppressed .45, and I was hooked! All top notch people! Wouldn't mind meeting more. The door's always open to SF members here at the ranch. Mike You can run, but you cannot hide. If you won't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them.

I work with a guy who was banned on SigForum, does that count? He told me the story a couple years ago but I don't recall the details. I got a good laugh out of it.

I’ve met 2. One in Arizona and one near Tulsa. Both were incredibly nice and delightful to visit with. .

I've been to forum shoots in Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio. Smoked cigars on Jeff Yarchin's deck when the temp was in the single digits. Had a tour of the county jail when we traveled to MN and met up with Pyker. There was a Bruce Gray class in Ohio that was mostly forum members. ETA Iforgot about the class at Pat Goodale's with the WV crew and Winebike drove down from VA. I've probably forgotten several others I hope to catch up with several more members when we head to Yellowstone next year. This message has been edited. Yes, two more names I remember thanks. I remember getting to shoot a suppressed P226. Don't remember who it belonged to. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

I'm sure I'll leave numerous people out and have forgotten the handles of a number I know I've met, some who still post here. I believe I was at the first ever SIGForum shoot very, very long ago: Mark123 and Circlesqr were there and at least three other members whom I've forgotten. We had another Forum shoot somewhere in PA that Circlesqr was also at as well as MRMATT and several other folks I don't recall. Met the Western PA guys at another shoot: Mark123 again, TheSarge , RemSig, vluc and several others I've forgotten. When I moved to Cincinnati 20 years ago, rburg helped me move in because I posted here on the Forum that I was moving and he volunteered to help. Coppercollarworker (?) and kz1000 were members at the same club as me. Also bought a number of guns from Cruiser133 back in those days. We had another shoot up at his club one time, but I don't remember who was there. Met the great Appliance Brad and his son up at the CMP North store where he helped me pick out a Garand. At Knob Creek over the years, I met uxb multiple times and 10x-shooter and maybe 2 other people. From the WV boys, Agony and I met multiple times to go to hockey games and shoots. I think I also met honda. In NC, I went to at least two Forum shoots and I really forgot a lot of the characters there. I know jelrod was there and another current poster whose name I forgot. That shoot was in SC just outside of Charlotte and I'm sure there were other members there too. At a shoot in Winston Salem, there were probably 8 of us. I want to say PizzaBob was there, but I'm not sure if that's correct. I know I bought a bunch of 30 carbine reloading stuff off someone. Was at an epic shoot at Jeff Yarchin's cabin in the NC mountains. V-Tail and SigMonkey were there and maybe 2 or 3 others, whose names I forget. Still have pictures of that one somewhere, including dual wielding Benelli M4s. I also think I know someone that MikeinNC used to work with, since my wife is from the same hood. Does that count as meeting him by proxy?? Haven't met many people that I know of in the last 10 years, though, since I moved back to PA. Guess I'm not very social anymore. Did meet one member to buy primers back during the 'Vid, though. Name unknown. Blindref works at the only shop I'll use for guns these days. This message has been edited. I drove up from San Antonio for that. Several of us arrived the night before and stayed at the same hotel. I did not go to the lunch afterwards because I had to drive into Ft. worth. There was a lot of rain that weekend. Do you remember several shooting the bowling pins with their AR’s and AK’s? I was the shooter they made stop because my 45/70 was destroying the pins.

Met w/ CPD Sig a few years ago while he was working. Top notch guy and we traded T Shirts and patches. Emails back and forth w/ HeavyD. Talked to DaBigBR on the phone. Good guy who has good deals. IIRC I talked to OldRuggedCross, RNShooter and downtownmv on the phone a while ago. All good people.

I have had the pleasure of meeting David Troung and HRK. Both on opposite coasts. Anybody passing though north central Kansas is always welcome to stop and say hi.

I may have gone to high school with a member here. He figured that out before I did from a reference to Bo Jackson. And he ALSO kindly shared a cast iron dutch oven forged in our hometown that we use regularly! Other than that only one, who I met with (along with his dad) at Austin F1 race the first year. I have unfortunately forgotten his name and alias. I've slept a LOT since then.... You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

I DID go to high school with Fed 161! Visted him at his home a few years ago. I've shot with - and bought a gun or two from - DaBigBR. Also met O-O, we were in Buenos Aires anyhow on vacation.

Not many, but probably a few more than I realize. Four for sure (only one of whom is still active), but I think I met them all before I knew they were members or before they joined. So it hardly counts.

Forgot I did a FTF for a Ruger MkIII 22/45 a few years ago in Austin, we didn’t talk much as we were in the way to the Renaissance Fair … It’ll come back to me "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. Yeah, I think I went to a gun show where you were trying to sell stuff. Most recently, I bought a knife off your table. Then you told me to move along so others could enrich you. Unhappy ammo seeker

Partial dichotomy |
I've met quite a few forum members, but mostly many years ago and back in New Hampshire when I lived there. Most of these folks aren't active here that I know of. When I moved to the midwest, I met a few more. nhtagmember, BoneDoc, Mr Pickles, JennyFoo, DaveNH, Todd Green, sandman....or maybe it is sandmannh, seadog comet and I attended a course at SIG Academy with another couple of members who's names I can't remember. Bruce Gray, Flork, mark123 (who gave me a great deal on a pair of Klipch speakers), RC (an awesome revolver competitor in IDPA), armored is another great IDPA competitor who would travel from Chicago to NW Indiana. ValpoFz and CPD SIG. ValpoFz and I competed in IDPA in NW Indiana and we met several members for dinner in Chicago one time. Should do it again! CPD SIG was there and I think three other CPD members as well as a member who used to be very active, but my brain can't come up with his handle. He was a doctor in the engineering field I think and his name contained doc....I think.

RogB, Sig2340, Spectre, jaybird1679 (I think, no longer active, but we text occasionally). Others I can't think of this second. Architect, 10-7 Leo, Thunderson, 95flhr, and DSgrouse were met at lobby day 2020. 10-7 who hasn't been active that I've seen recently at one time lived 7 houses down from me and I didn't know. Sig2340 was my FFL before I found out he was a member. I text with DSgrouse every month or two. Spoken with monkey a number of times and received some good advice from him. Did the pandemic zoom stuff with a number of you guys. Emailed with countless others. Sent/received karmas from others. Most importantly of all, there's a number of you I've never met that helped pay for the cost of my best friends son's funeral after his suicide. For that, anyone here is welcome at my house anytime and without notice. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis
