Smash and grab is going on essentially unchecked here in SoCal. I think the CHP was tasked by Newsom with being a Five-0 sort of strike force to make a dent and crackdown but I can't see they've done much at all.

Orange County is target rich place where the roving groups of robbers come down from LA, do their thing and then scoot up fast on freeways back to LA County. About 2 months ago at South Coast Plaza a group brazenly went up to patrons at a restaurant and self-reparationed themselves.

As David said, it's unchecked and the hauls are well in excess of $100k and some are north of $250k.

Smash-and-grab is to California what Car-Jacking is to Minneapolis.

Ignore it long enough and it will just become another minor inconvenience of living/working in the city.

Let’s see,

No description of the suspects pedigree, hmmm wonder why ?

California if force is used on these nonviolent offenders the store owner will be prosecuted. The videos show the actors breaking storage cases and taking inanimate objects, not threatening the store employees, not a crime of violence. Luckily Orange County leans right, if that was Los Angeles, Riverside or San Francisco, I’d bet some leftist would take issue to throwing objects at the actors.

Perpetrator, suspect and thief, have negative connotations, bias and other stigmas attached to those words, thus it would be privilege laden to use such terms. (Just took a CLE on inclusion and bias free terminology and harsh rhetoric. I’m considering electro convulsions as a post class therapy.)

I am glad they didn't come in. Be prepared.

You should take your post down, though.

Why - what is the issue with Dave's post?

The photos, as originally posted, were way too big. The OP has since been edited and the photos resized, so the OP looks fine now.

They did say the pickup truck was black.

News story here last night complete with multiple, clear, surveillance video shots from two separate instances. Three women, using mace inside liquor stores in two different counties to steal high end booze. I couldn’t believe the mental gyrations the person interviewed went through to say they looked like the same women while avoiding saying they were black.

I totally get that life is supposed to be more precious than “stuff”, even expensive stuff, but it sure seems like it should be legal to take whatever measures are needed to stop this kind of thing. Sigh, the joys of living in a communist paradise…
