Ocasio-Cortez slammed as 'financially illiterate' at Sharpton event over Amazon, faces calls to be ousted from office

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...e-ousted-from-office

Hours before Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called for an “agenda of reparations” at an Al Sharpton-sponsored event in New York on Friday, she was slammed as “financially illiterate” at the same conference for killing the Amazon deal with the state.

Ocasio-Cortez spoke to the crowd at the National Action Network, saying her Green New Deal will consider reparations to black Americans for slavery in addition to the radical overhaul of the economy in a bid to combat climate change.

But at the same conference, hours before Ocasio-Cortez’s speech, an investor ripped those who opposed the Amazon deal with the state that would have generated billions in tax revenue and 25,000 jobs.

“The people campaigning against the Amazon campus are financially illiterate,” said Tracy Maitland, president and chief investment officer of Advent Capital Management during a panel discussion the Black Economic Agenda, according to the New York Post.

He later told the newspaper that he blames the 29-year-old Democratic Socialist for spreading misinformation and helping to kill the agreement with Amazon that would have benefited people in her home state.

“This was a disgrace. I partially blame AOC for the loss of Amazon. She doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. That’s scary. We have to make sure she’s better educated or vote her out of office,” he said, noting that Ocasio-Cortez implied the state was giving a blank $3 billion check rather than tax credits based on the number of jobs created.

Bill Thompson, the chairman of the City University of New York, also said during the panel that jobs were “snatched away” from mostly Latino and black students at the university.

“We were at the table talking to Amazon on how students could get jobs. … Those opportunities were snatched away,” Thompson was quoted as saying.

“Those students look like us. … We’re talking thousands of high-paying jobs. It was a disappointment from a CUNY perspective.”

Attempting to "better educate" AOC is a futile task--her mind is closed to anything that does not match her settled opinions.

So very true! It never occurs to her that maybe her ideas about socialism might be wrong; it never occurs to her that she's still young and has a lot to learn about life. It's like "she's too smart and too informed to learn anything more about life," when, if she had anything going for her at all, she'd realize that is something which can never be achieved.

I suspect she will fade out into obscurity just like The Knack. And, the fade will begin very soon.

Well Mr. Tracy Maitland (Victor's brother???) said it best above..."She doesn't know what she doesn't know". That's scary". Yes...it is, Mr. Maitland!!! I discussed that earlier or in another thread.

To think someone, with the IQ of a lego block, could potentially be the leader of the most powerful country in the free world is just mind-boggling to me. But I'm sure her constituents and supporters are just as oblivious. That's how she garnered 16,000 votes in the first place. Kinda sad that all it took to put this living, breathing, walking, talking DOLT into office was 16,000 votes. That HAS to be less than 1% of the population of her district. Damn...NYC is so screwed up.

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

I believe it’s a mistake to believe she has a low IQ. I’ve interacted with many people who have demonstrated their ability to do well on abstract intelligence-measuring tests who are just as deluded as she is.

Socialism and the many beliefs that socialists are prey to these days are literally a faith system to many people. They accept its tenets on the basis of arguments from the authority of people who raised and taught them, and the acceptance of those arguments is without rational analysis, i.e., it is faith. Once people have rejected reason (or never used it at all) in favor of faith, then we cannot expect them to find the flaws in their beliefs, no matter how obvious they may be to outside observers. But none of that is necessarily due to low intelligence. It’s not that intelligent people are incapable of examining and analyzing the tenets of their faith in a rational manner, it’s that they chose not to.

And lack of basic intelligence isn’t even necessarily demonstrated by such things as OC’s failure to understand the difference between a tax break and having money to spend on other things. It could be, of course, but not if she was just parroting something she had been told by her handlers—just as countless other acolytes have parroted things they didn’t really understand but were conditioned not to question. There’s no question that she is profoundly ignorant and credulous, but low IQ? I believe it’s a mistake to attribute her beliefs to that rather than looking further for their roots.

Edited to more clearly reflect my thoughts.

She comes across as stupid because she's literally a puppet. She's fed what to say but can't help herself. If she ran of her own accord, and her beliefs were actually self taught, she might sound coherent.

It's fair to say that nothing leaving her mouth is her own knowledge. In that, she is stupid. The increasing lexicon of quotes by her is not going to reveal a deep thinker. She was chosen by the Justice Democrats because of her race, gender, name, and looks. Period.

I think you're reaching. I too have worked with folks who though deluded into thinking and professing ridiculous positions on issues, were actually very intelligent as it relates to IQ. I do not however believe AOC is part of that group. This woman is quite simply, a moron. I think the very fact that her last gig was as a bartender/waitress while sporting a degree in economics from Boston University helps support my hypothesis.

And yours and Arc's contention that she appears stupid because she's parroting other peoples talking points is not in my view the actual reason for her appearing to be spectacularly stupid. When she's parroting leftist nonsense, she sounds like many wingnuts on the far left. Deluded 'yes', insane, 'yes', but not necessarily stupid. However, when she deviates from her script and starts sharing her personal thoughts on topics (though I don't believe she actually 'thinks' much at all), that's when she reminds all of us just how hopelessly moronic, illiterate, and woefully unqualified she is. Watch the video of her feeding her face and putting together IKEA while Snap-chatting. No script there, just complete mind numbing stupidity flowing freely.

I truly believe this chick is like a bad case of the flu....disgusting and painful, but usually short lived.

At first I thought there was some Sun Tzu game such as “Appear strong when you are weak and weak when you are strong” going on.

I thought for sure there would be some type of strategy that would reveal itself.

But then I realized she's just weak.
