Two minutes that proves she is an ideologue with no clue beyond the bounds of her ideology. Two minutes that leave viewers wondering how her constituents could possibly have found her to be the best candidate in their pool of choices.

That leads me to wonder on the over/under of the number of pages in this thread documenting her ideology by the time her term ends and she’s (hopefully) returned to the neighborhood bar that she loves to brag about.

She DOES have power. As a US Congresswoman she has significant power. She has power with a voting block (not mine, probably not yours), but she has a huge following of younger people.

If she did not have presence and power, we would not have a thread pointing out her shortcomings. She would be an invisible simpleton. As it is she is a high profile simpleton.

I find that video disturbing, because I think that's the kind of "act" a lot people will be able to get behind....her kind. And I say act, because after all, she won the casting call. Who wrote the script?

That is power, but not enough to do real damage beyond a little influence. Imagine if she had Maduro power.

Democratic socialist Darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) participated in a town hall about her "Green New Deal" with MSNBC's Chris Hayes. Naturally, the issue of hurricanes and natural disasters was brought up. And Ocasio-Cortez's response was nothing shy of amazing.

"On the events of September 11th 2001 thousands of Americans died in one of the worst, the largest attack on U.S. soil and our national response, whether we agree with it or not, our national response was to go to war in one, and eventually two countries," AOC explained. "3,000 Americans died in Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Where is our response?"

Apparently AOC wasn't made aware about FEMA relief efforts. Hundreds of pallets of bottled water were delivered to Puerto Rico but sat on a runway for almost a year. The Trump administration made efforts to provide relief but had issues because of Puerto Rico's physical location and failed infrastructure.

Sat on a runway? Really? Beth Baumann (the reporter who wrote the linked article) really needs some education. A runway is that part of an airport that is used for take-off and landing. If this is an active airport, I doubt that the water was left sitting on the runway.

The article states that the airport is in Ceiba, PR. I was stationed at NAS Roosevelt Roads for a couple of years, Ceiba was a nearby town. I do not recall any airport in Ceiba. My guess is that the referenced airport is actually Roosevelt Roads (no longer a Navy facility, now a public use airport). If so, I really do not think that an 11,000' runway would be left closed for use, for a year or more, wit pallets of water sitting on the runway. Some other part of the airport, sure. But not the runway.

As far as the water just sitting there and not made available to those who need it, that is entirely believable. I spent a couple of years there in the Navy, and then later, another three years as a civilian, working for International Tel & Tel. Government inefficiency and incompetence was a standing joke, and a mainstay of the news reporting in The San Juan Star (the English language newspaper that was published at the time I lived there).

Her only "power" is that she is a cutsie girl who spouts retarded claims which just to inflame the Conservative side.
It is a diversion and an act of "normalization" (much like what was done with homo-marriage).
Get enough talking about these ridiculous notions they become "normal".
If they fail to take - she will be dumped promptly as the useless tool she is.
NOBODY really takes HER seriously as the powerful and great OZ. Eek

Do you know ANYTHING about her district? If you did, you wouldn't say that.

And knowing her district, I would not be surprised if a good number of illegals didn't vote for her in the last election.

The latest from Breakfast Club Evita...

She thinks the 22nd Amendment was designed to prevent FDR from being reelected....

Someone who actually knows history (or just did a Google search) knows that FDR was elected 4 times and died in office. The 22nd Amendment came several years later.

I'll give her one thing: she never wavers in her absolute certainty that she knows everything and is an expert on all subjects, all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.
