I was happy when he left the Cubs. Pitchers would dig themselves into a hole while Dusty was sleeping in the dugout.

We had a lot of good hits, just all happened to be right into a Rangers' glove.

Including this year Dusty has managed 13 teams to the post season and came up empty all but once.
Not including 1993 giants that won 103 and didn’t make the playoffs becuase he started a rookie with 8 MLB games under his belt for all the marbles ( before wild card). Oh well.

He will be 75 middle of next season.

Yeah, you AZ guys wanted it more than us, Philly just could not hit shit, what a horrible time to have a slump like that. Frown

This choke is a classic Philly move, it’s been repeated many times over the years.

The WS should be a good one, these are two really good teams going head to head.

D-backs showed a lot of grit and determination, stealing bases at will and getting key hits... they earned it!

Congrats AZ!

Going to be a good world series, two teams who haven't been there in a while!

They definitely walked in there determined to give it their all and they did and I admire that.

So much for all the swagger and attitude that Philly had, that really bit us in the ass big time.

This article sums it up well:

As they did for much of the series, a lesser-talented Diamondbacks team simply did the little things better in Game 7 - moving runners, knocking in runners in scoring position, stealing bases and playing sound fundamental baseball.

Historically, the World Series lacked T&A...Looks like this is the year we get some! Wink

If AZ wins Max Bumgarner gets a ring. He was 0-3 with a 10+ era and was released in April.
Was the highest paid player for the team.

I was hoping to see the Rangers and D-backs in the series. But did not think it would happen. It has been a crazy post season. I am good with either getting the ring. Slight lean to to D-backs.
For me it was easy to root against the Astro's. Like Dusty and some of their team. Verlander is a classless act.
Like some of the Phillies too but just something about them made it hard to root for then for me.
Should be a good series.

Ouch…LOL

Turned on that game last night and watched the Rangers hitting balls all night long pitched by the same Diamondbacks pitchers that totally shut the Phillies down so they must be doing something right where we weren’t.

These seem like two very scrappy underdog type teams which will make for a good World Series I think. I’m thinking it will go to 7 games.

Alfonzo Marquez made some of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. I’m rooting for Texas and the two that come to mind were in Texas’ favor.

Question for you baseball experts:

I saw a player from the Rangers hit a home run last night in the DBacks ball park but it did not go past a wall or into the stands. It fell inside the stadium into the dirt right before a wall yet this was considered a home run? Why is that?

You might be talking about Seager’s 2nd inning HR that bounced off signage in right center field then landed in the dirt warning track.

I think that was it. In Citizens Bank Park, home runs either go into the stands or into an area of grass and trees.
