"The same people whose rhetoric inspired the assassination of Charlie Kirk and two assassination attempts against Trump—mocked you for praying when a Catholic Church full of kids was shot up, who minimized the murders of Laken Riley and Iryna Zarsutka, laughed when a woman was beat to within an inch of her life in Cincinnati, said Charlie had it coming, mocked and celebrated his murder, attacked his widow, mocked how she held a tissue while crying, and called her a slut for hugging the Vice President, are demanding you put on a veil and eulogize their beloved, hate-filled celebrity."

"Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele.
This is where Trump should have stopped typing. Major misstep adding the following, which seems like he was victim-blaming, and even gloating a bit:

"He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of American upon us, perhaps like never before."

"May Rob and Michele rest in peace!" he concluded.

So was he implying that the killer, who could end up being their own son is supposedly MAGA, and killed them because those two had TDS?

It's okay for him to think that, but don't put it out for all to see. Roll Eyes

I think he is saying that Reiner was so crazed with TDS that others in Reiner's close orbit were driven crazy, or to crazed action, due to being around Reiner so much, not that he turned others into Trump supporters.

Huh, what’s for supper?

I knew very well what Reiner’s opinions were on President Trump, and Republicans in general, but once I learned what he was about, I never read or listened to him again. It’s been years. There are several so-called celebrities and a number of politicians (including a few Republicans) that I have no interest in listening to, so I don’t.

That throwaway line about supper pretty well reflects the feeling I had this morning when I read about the Reiners.

Aside from all of Reiner's annoying anti-Trump tweets - he made some high quality movies. Stand by Me, Spinal Tap. Classics, that I will most likely watch again at some point. What a horrible way to die. Was hoping our President would have had a tiny bit more class with his statement on the matter, especially after the Charlie Kirk comments from others that caused GREAT concern.

I agree with you that Trump should have left the last part out. Tough for us to defend those kind of comments about someone who has just died, even if we silently agree.

I love our President but he shouldn’t have said that. I got no love for rob reiner but I’m a hypocrite if I chastise the people who said nasty shit about Charlie Kirk but pretend this is ok. The President would show some character by admitting he made a mistake. Honestly that tweet (?) was in such poor taste I wonder how no one tries (or fails) to stop him from posting.

I concur. Trump is his own worst enemy at times. I expect VDH will take him to task on an upcoming podcast.

Reiner and his wife were avowed leftist and avid Trump haters.

So there is that.

Lets say someone hates you. I mean really hates you and and your family. And At every turn they try and destroy you and your family and your lively hood for years. So much so that if you do not dedicate your life and resources trying to defend yourself and family. They will succeed.

If you were in that position I think you might have a completely different mind set.

No one deserves to be murdered that should be obvious to all.

There are plenty of people in this world who should be murdered. For starters, let's inventory all the prisons in the world. They're chocked full of people who should be gone yesterday. The list doesn't stop there, though. I'm not talking about crimes eligible for capital punishment. I'm not talking about legalities; I'm talking about morality, and the plain fact of the matter is that there are countless people drawing breath right now who should be taken out and shot, or hanged, or whatever stops the beating of their evil heart, and the world would be a better place with them gone. That's a fact.

Let's not get silly in an effort to appear objective.

Yes, I agree. Some people deserve a killing.

From another forum:
"The indecent vile Reiner spewed towards Trump for a decade was personal and unrelenting.."

Again:
"Leftist radicals tried to assassinate Trump twice. They tried to impeach him twice. They raided his home and dug through his wife’s lingerie and his son’s underwear. They falsely indicted him in the judicial system on multiple occasions. They called him “Hitler,” “a facist,” “a murderer” and a “pedophile” all without merit. Rob Reiner was at the tip of the spear for those attacks for years."

Again:
"Reiner was a bad dude.

He wanted Drag Queens talking to first graders.

He wanted to defund the Police, leaving Victims at the mercy of the criminals.

He had walls and Gates and the Police couldn’t even gain access, yet he was for open borders.

He has two Mansions in California alone, yet he’s a global warming zealot and wants higher taxes for working people.

He promoted all the Lies about Trump, and he pursued his Hateful obsession to the detriment of his family."

[end quotes]

So, yeah. I can see where POTUS Trump is coming from. The barrage against him has been nonstop, to include even his family.

IMO, the man has shown remarkable restraint.

Fuck Rob Reiner. I'm not in the least bit sorrowed by his death, and if he had spent more time putting his own house and life in order rather than telling the rest of us how to live ours, maybe he could have avoided it. I'm also not offended by Trump pissing on the grave of an enemy, but I think he could have found a more articulate way of putting it.

Rob Reiner's son did SEVENTEEN rehab stints while still in his teens!

At the end of the day, the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife are ultimately the result of a poor parenting, or the lack thereof! Regardless of any mental defect/issues he may have had, or developed over years of drug use/abuse, a rich kid doesn't develop a drug habit of such consequence/significance as a teenager without being enabled financially by wealthy parents who were, all the while, derelict in their parental responsibilities. They significantly contributed to their own demise!

Reiner was glandular and unhinged about Trump on multiple appearances on tv. I wish someone could post a compilation of Reiner going on about Trump over the years. It would put the lie to today's stories of how great a guy Reiner was.

And yeah, Nick appears to have been a long time problem. If Rob Reiner had no problem spewing his rabid, doctrinaire bullshit in public, could he have been just as ugly behind closed doors with his family?

I'm not buying the spin, Reiner always seemed like a major dick, giant smile and wild gesticulation notwithstanding.
