My Tundra Came with a hard fiberglass tonneau cover by Jeraco. I like the look and security, and am surprised by how cool it stays in the bed even on hot days. I also find it to be completely waterproof. What I don't like is how it limits how I can use the bed, and removing it periodically when I might need it looks like a project.

I like the functionality of the folding or rolling slatted or panel covers, but they are all black to my knowledge, and on a hot day, they get so hot you almost can't touch them. This also means the temperature inside the bed is much higher than the hard painted fiberglass tonneaus. A lot of them are also not necessarily waterproof.

Maybe there isn't a perfect solution, but I'd be interested to hear what you've tried or seen that you like.

I put Truxedo low pros on my trucks the day I buy them. I like the flexibility they offer. It is black, which is fine for me, and the heat thing has never seemed to be an issue for me.

Another vote for Truxedo. In a hard rain only the back end of my truck bed gets wet, and even then it's very little. The rubber gasket continues to be flexible and effective after 6 years of always being parked outside.

I don’t ever recall my truck bed being wet with any of my truxedos. I wonder why you are getting wet?

Visually, the gasket does not provide a complete seal since it always ends up inside the tailgate so I don't expect it to be perfect. Is is supposed to be outside/riding on top of the tailgate? If so, then maybe it wasn't installed correctly. It doesn't appear wide enough to ride on top.

I've had two custom fitted caps (one was a LEER) on other trucks, and both leaked worse than this Truxedo. The fact that I now have full use of the bed again makes me happy.

I've had a BAKflip on my F-150 that I've been happy with. It's a 3 piece folding tonneau and the bed has been dry. Nice that it folds flat against the back glass of the cab allowing full access to the bed. The panels are insulated. Yes, it's black and the outside does get hot in the summer, but the composite panels do seem to mitigate some of the heat transfer to the inside of the bed.

I'm looking for a cover for my new Colorado. The Truxedo seems to be very popular and reasonably priced. I'm leaning towards it.

Truxedo. Five years in the Florida sun parked outside. Nothing got wet. I will say that I was constantly rolling it up to haul things or when pulling my Fifth Wheel and after about 5 years or so the stitching holding the Velcro came loose in a few places. Easily fixed. I used Aerospace 303 on it every few month and the cover looked new when I sold the truck.

I have the Line-X branded BAKFlip 3-panel on my F150 and it works very well. First time I took it 2000 miles through rain and snow and everything has been dry since day one. It's also nice as there's no external key so if my tailgate is closed, it's also locked too. Nothing special to do or remember.

I just put this one on the used 2015 Toyota Tacoma I just bought. I don’t know how the bed of the Tundra is but this was a breeze to install on the Tacoma. Advantage TorzaTop

I've got a Truxedo lo-pro on my Colorado. I'd get another one, mostly water-proof and very easy to install. I'd also highly recommend a Bed Rug.
