Anyone have experience with bakflip? Bakflip Covers Or any other recommendations? Oliver Wendell Holmes - "The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions."

Extang Signature 2.0. It's canvas, not vinyl. See my thread. $500 - high quality. If you're wanting hard only I have read that Bakflip can leak, but most channel tips do that I think. You would need to go with a cover that covers the top of the bed for complete dryness. ---------------------------- Tony Guns in my collection: Awaiting next purchase

Thanks for the heads up. I know expecting a water tight cover is unrealistic, but I need also one to keep dust and sticky fingers out. Oliver Wendell Holmes - "The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions."

Bak Flip G2 on my Tundra. Tiny leak around the corners of the tailgate, but that's the tailgate not the cover. (I backed into something...) I absolutely HATE soft covers. PITA to snap, too loose when it's hot, too tight when it's cold. Bows wouldn't stay in place on the POS Extang that I gave to somebody I didn't like when I bought the Bak Flip. To be fair, I didn't spend much on the Extang, around $300 IIRC. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Bakflip G2 I believe, has been on my 07 Tundra since 08. It is not water tight but as long as I keep the drain tubes clear the only real water intrusion I get is at the foot of the bed near the tailgate. I did add an extra layer of weather stripping on the head rail during the initial install, looked like it would leak without it. Prices seem to have gone up a couple hundred bucks but I'd buy again. Over the life of the truck/cover the extra cost versus utility gained is well worth it to me. Bakflip G2 on a 2014 Ram here. As previously said, it's not completely watertight but it does keep most of the water out, say 90-ish % or more. Pretty happy with it and would consider another if I ever buy another new truck. ___________________________ Not giving a damn since...whenever...

I've got a Backflip VP on my truck. One piece vinyl look but is a 3 piece hard cover. Mine has been through some pretty serious rain storms and no real amount of water seems to have gotten in. Bakflip HD here. Use it as a headache rack and bounced logs off it. No damage Used it as a step and as a bench and I'm a hefty fellow- no damage. I love mine. Had it since April or so of 2013. Minimal leakage, just keep the rail channels clean and the down tubes clean. Clarior Hinc Honos BSA Dad, Cheer Dad

I've got a rollbak. Broke within 30 days. No warranty (Ship entire cover back to factory at my cost for evaluation) coverage to speak of. I have a Undercover Flex that I like. Keeps the bed fairly dry unless I'm in a heavy downpour. Could be attributed to the drain tube not going through the bed but just to a hole, I could fix that by getting a smaller hose and adapter. The local shop I bought it from also gave me a nice thick foam tape for the front edge of the bed to help seal that well. Undercover Flex A few Sigs and some others

I just put a Bakflip Revolver X2 on my '17 F250 and will have to say it's been my favorite bed cover. It's very solid, locks up tight, rolls up like a soft cover but has aluminum lats that keeps someone from just knifing through it. ___________________________________ No, it's a cardigan... but thanks for noticing

Backflip VP on my 2015 F-150. I've been happy with it. I went with the VP thinking the vinyl across the top of the hinges would provide additional water tightness. So far, so good. Doing it over again they now have the MX which allows the tailgate to be closed while the tonneau cover is closed. My daughter can deflate your daughter's soccer ball.

Extang solid folder on my 2010 F150. Only weak point I've found is the locks/hold downs break if you use them a lot. Since it's my service truck, it gets opened and closed a bunch. I do need to put new foam gaskets on mine. Getting lots of road dust in the box. __________________________ Writing the next chapter that I've been looking forward to.

I have the VP model on my 2015 Ram. I have been very happy with it and it has been amazingly watertight. I really like the security that a hard cover provides. "Momma say's the pistol is the Devil's right hand."

Use a "Fold-a-Cover" G4 Elite on my 2014 Silverado. Watertight cover but small leak thru tailgate when powerwashing truck or in heavy rain. Cover locks separate from tailgate. Very happy with their products. Had their LS model on my Canyon was very happy with it also. http://www.foldacover.com/

Short. Fat. Bald. Costanzaesque. |
I had an undercover flex and absolutely loved it. Easy to use and easy to store if folded up. I switched to an Undercover SE and loved it even more, and last Friday I ordered an Undercover Elite for my third truck. It cost just a little more than the flex but I like the tilt up and take off kind. My experience with the fold up kind is meh. I use the bed too much to deal with that. Something to think about. ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. Definitely one of the service industries.

I've had a BackFlip Revolver X2 on my '13 F-150 since December and have been very pleased with it so far. Minimal to no leaking (a few drops at tailgate corners) in multiple downpours and car washes and it locks up very securely as long as you lock the tailgate. A little pricey but well worth it in my opinion.
