NEW PHONE DAY!

Arrived a couple hours ago. Absolute first thing I did was put a screen protector on it along with camera protector and case.

I’ve always preferred the black or space gray, blue isn’t too bad it is dark. Got a black/translucent case that makes it look black and the camera lens covers are on a black aluminum plate so no exposed blue color.

Everything transferred over from my 15 PM without issue. The 15 was then reset and had everything transferred my wife’s 14 to it.

Confirmed everything works and now good to go.

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

Mine came a couple hours ago but I’m leaving Sunday for a work trip so I won’t switch over till I get back. I still have to pick a case for it anyway.

I pulled up the Apple Store last Friday during preorder and it said I could order and pick one up on at the local store...I was thinking whoohoo. is this real?, once I got through all the prompts it pushed it out a couple weeks for pick up

Im happy currently, but the trade is $700 on the 16PM so out of pocket isn't extreme. I always buy out right. Knowing myself, the wind will blow the right direction and I'll end up with one before too long. Big Grin

The wind blew the right way today... to my surprise I was able to pick one up at the local Apple Store today with no waiting (I did show up for my time slot 1.5 hours late) Traded the 16PM in at max amount

Got mine today too. Transfer from my iPhone 15 PM went smoothly, but it’s annoying when the first thing you have to do is wait 10 or 15 minutes to update the software on the new phone. Since iOS 26 was just released on Monday, I assume that the first batch of phones were manufactured earlier and likely come loaded with the final iOS 26 beta. eSIM transfer went pretty smoothly too.

One area of potential concern is that I had the new phone plugged in during the setup, and got a message that said that charging would resume when the phone had returned to normal temperature, which indicates it was overheating during charging. The phone didn’t even have a case on it at the time. Have to see if it happens when I fully charge it. Would be disappointing if it overheats while charging, especially since it’s supposed to have a fancy smancy vapor chamber cooling system.

What did they give you for it? Since my Verizon line is business, they’d only around $600.

My 16 did this last year. Activating is a tremendous resource hog. It won't overheat during normal charging.

My 17 Pro arrived today. Wasn’t planning on upgrading from my 14 Pro, but with the $1,100 credit from Verizon it made sense. I use my phone a lot for work/travel, battery on the 14 was under 80% status. After fees and taxes it was around $300 to upgrade to the 17 Pro with 512 GB. Figured if I wait ~6 months that credit would be half, if that.

So far I like it, I’m not a techy person so nothing major jumping out at me other than the obvious. Side button for camera, screen/graphics a little different. I’ll keep exploring the next few days.

Took all of 45 minutes to get it up and running, I still remember the days of standing in the phone store for a couple of hours when switching over phones. Right up there with the DMV… Mad

I wasn't planning on upgrading my 14 Plus but my Mint Mobile plan is running out and with my military discount and the 1100 trade in I got the 17 Pro. My payment went up a bit but I'll chalk it up to getting the 17 Pro paid for.

The TMobile lines in my area absolutely suck, I mean just 1 bar of LTE, so hopefully the ATT tower is stronger but if not I'm ok, nothing new. I also like the hotspot included so I can stream music I want to listen to on the road.

I would have never even considered it but this thread convinced me I was a neanderthal.

Ok folks, now you need a sweet one-of-a-kind case for your new phone.

Carved.com has some great ones to choose from

'Neanderthal' for a having what's likely a 2-3 year old phone?? Sounds like you're using 'girl math' there... Wink

I've had my iPhone 14 for less than 16 months!

I disagree with that, unless something has changed in the last 3-4 years. My 14 had plenty of small marks in the screen from keys and what not in my pocket. I put a screen protector on my old phone when I got it, after a year or so it started to come off. Should have replaced it sooner as there were clear marks from keys and what not.

Straight out of the box I put a screen protector on my new one.

Screen protectors are cheap insurance.

My phone came out of the box, quick check for physical damage, applied screen and camera lens protectors, then put it in a case.

All before it was even turned on.

911Boss, I agree, those Carved cases are quite the artwork.

No matter which phone I have, I always put a case and screen protector on it.

Saw this today and thought it was pretty funny.

Yes, in fact much has changed over the past 3-4 years, This may come as a surprise to you, but Apple employs an army of materials engineers and they're doing things with ceramics that are unbelieveable.

^^ That may be, but...Though the Ceramic Shield 2 Glass on the new iPhone is 2-3 times more scratch resistant, it is NOT scratch proof!

After talking with a coworker who used satellite text messages on a trip to the north, I think it might be time to upgrade from my SE 2.

Furthermore, the common stipulation that pre-paying the balance forfeits the very "discounts" touted as the deal's benefit is a significant red flag. It essentially forces consumers into a prolonged commitment, making the initial "savings" conditional on an inflexible, two-year financial obligation. For me, such an arrangement is a definitive "pass"; the perceived short-term gain simply isn't worth the long-term financial straitjacket and loss of control over my budget.

Wife traded her iPhone 13 in for a 17 today. She would have liked a plus model, but the max pro was too much phone for her. The Apple guy talked her out of an air, so she was happy with the 17 since it was a hair larger than her 13.

Her 13 was working great with IOS 18 and 26, but we wanted to upgrade before the 13’s were worthless. Way too early to say for sure, but there doesn’t seem to be a big difference between two. However, 256 is better since she was maxed out at her 128.
