Told cops where to go for over 29 years…

I’ve been using a 15 Pro Max since it was released, two years next month. My wife has a 14 Plus that is only about 18 months old.

Pretty sure I will upgrade to 17 Pro Max and will give my 15 PM to my wife. Verizon is offering $1100 trade(credit) for her 14 Plus ($225 up front, $875 in credits over 3 years). No plans to leave Verizon, been with them for years so the extended period doesn’t worry me.

The amount Verizon is offering varies based on your trade in and plan. I already have Verizon’s “Unlimited Ultimate” plan, and looks like they are offering $1100 credit for any iPhone 13 and up if you get the 17 PM. Doesn’t make sense to trade the 15 PM with 256gb memory if I can get the same value for her 14+ w/128gb memory.

She is plenty happy with the 14, but would like the better cameras of the 15 PM.

Anyone else planning on upgrading ASAP or going to wait?

I have a 14 pro max. Battery capacity is 82%. I’d like to hold off replacing for another year. Haven’t looked into what the 17 offers, but I probably don’t need it.

I too generally wait a year for a new IPhone. You can get a better deal. And my 15 is doing fine. Same for IWatch too. May jump on the new AirPods though.

The machining of the 17 unibody looks interesting. But I’ve got no plans for a new phone. I went from a 13 Pro to the 16 Pro last October and still have 100% battery capacity and have been running iOS 26 for over a month - like it quite a lot.

I bought the AirPods Pro 2’s when they were reduced by ~40% on Amazon Prime Days recently. They are much better (sound quality and features) than the gen 1 model I had. The gen 3’s look to add even more features but I’m quite happy with the gen 2’s - especially at the substantially reduced price.

battery life, camera, video, increased RAM, faster chipset, updated bluetooth

seems to be the biggest differences between a 16PM and 17PM

My iPhone 14 works just fine and battery health is still at 100% capacity, so zero need to upgrade.

Oh, and I am definitely NOT a Fanbois...Just sayin' Wink

I like the latest and greatest but my 16 pro still suits my needs. I might be interested in the new AirPod pro’s if the translate thing works well.

Is there really anything it does better than a 15 at this point?

Seems to me the days of the big advances are over, all we see now are better cameras and more storage.

I have the 15 Pro Max and plan on having it for a long time yet.

I watched the apple event today, nothing about the pro lit my hair on fire, except the color, that orange is awesome.

now the 17 air, that's got me on the verge of switching to apple. it doesn't hurt that Microsoft won't let me upgrade to windows 11 with my current PC, and frankly I like MacOS better than windows and have for a long time however I used to be a gamer and that held me hostage.

So going full apple is entirely within scope of possible.

Camera is a big deal for me. Biggest thing for me is getting twice what I paid for my wife’s 14 Plus in trade, making cost of the phone only $99. I may splurge and spend the extra $200 for the 512gb model. Will see how I feel when I order on Friday.

Six-twelve months from now, be lucky to get $300 in trade for a 14 Plus.

As my eyes get older, more screen is a good thing. Not a huge diff (6.9 vs 6.7) but I’ll take it.

The announcement said the case design gives it best antenna performance of any iPhone, will see if it is a noticeable difference.

Kinda bummed they don’t have a black or space gray option. Those have always been my preference. Will probably go with the dark blue.

I used to be vehemently anti-Apple. Had Android phones, did rooting and all that. Once the iPad came out and I gave Apple a shot. I was sold and have never regretted it. Switched to Mac computer, than iPhone (I think the 7 was my first) and the seamless interaction between it all is amazing.

My financial strategy is clear: I'm fundamentally disinclined to accept any "deal" that necessitates an increased monthly payment, binding me for a two-year payoff period. The core issue is the lack of flexibility and the inherent trap these offers represent. These promotions rarely, if ever, include a convenient buyout clause that would allow for an early exit without penalty – a feature that would at least make them momentarily appealing. Furthermore, the common stipulation that pre-paying the balance forfeits the very "discounts" touted as the deal's benefit is a significant red flag. It essentially forces consumers into a prolonged commitment, making the initial "savings" conditional on an inflexible, two-year financial obligation. For me, such an arrangement is a definitive "pass"; the perceived short-term gain simply isn't worth the long-term financial straitjacket and loss of control over my budget.

My 14 pro works perfectly, Verizon called me yesterday and asked if I wanted to preorder a 17. Sure do, put me down for one. I don't get the deals as my plan is not the unlimited, so usually just buy them outright.

last year I got rid of my iPhone 6 (it worked right up until it didn't) and upgraded to the 13 and quite happy with it. No plans to go further than that

Just last week I committed to two years with Verizon for another 25% off my bill. So I suppose getting the 17PM won't force me to stay with them any longer, in case I want to leave. I'm a power user and I am not impressed with my 16PM's battery life.

Wife and I both have the plain 15s, hers is the Plus, and they’re doing what we need them to do. We got them in January 24, and the battery is still at 99%. For the way we use them, I don’t think the 17 would do much for us, so no real reason to spend the money. We’ll probably end up keeping them until Apple doesn’t update the operating system any more, or the batteries go belly up.

I’m still running a 7Plus. I’m finding more app’s that I can’t run due to the OS so I might finally upgrade to a 16 if a deal comes by.

Dude you are WAY overdue for an upgrade!

Keep in mind that everything past the iPhone 15 is USB-C now, no more Lightning cables.

I went from a 12 PM to a 16 PM last year, and the camera plus battery life are huge improvements.
I'm a regular all-day but not power-user, so changing every interaction or two not worth it, but the recent iterations are a pretty big step.

I'd like to get my hands on whatever is the biggest screen format of the new Air to see what that's all about.
