This is astonishingly petty behavior. This is not a frustrated old man down the street in your neighborhood who is mad at life and can afford to make petty and cruel remarks to a handful of their neighbors on the way out. This is a man who has vied for the most powerful office in the Western World. This is a supposed statesmen, a representative of the government of the United States- someone who is supposed to be a leader and an example. The man is supposed to be above such pettiness, at least publicly.

I don't recall hearing anything like this from anyone in D.C., ever. It's truly bizarre. It shows just how very badly stung was McCain by Trump's "not a hero" remark, and how much it angered him for Trump not only having survived that remark, but then gone on to win the office that McCain failed to achieve. It also confirms that everything that McCain has done in opposition to President Trump has been nothing more than pettiness arising from his bruised ego. He was in a position to help this nation end the nightmare of Obamacare, but instead, he was petty and low.

I hope he leaves the Senate very soon. It can't be soon enough for me.

His father was an admiral, but he requests a combat assignment. While on the Forrestal he is just about incinerated (no fault of his own) but, upon recuperating from injuries sustained in that accident, volunteered for assignment with the Oriskany, continues on with combat operations. Gets shot down during Operation Rolling Thunder (we all know what a CF that was), on his 23 mission, ejects, fractures both arms and a leg during the ejection. NVA refuse to treat his injuries, and torture him. When he is given a chance to leave the POW camp early he refuses and does a total of 5 and half years in that shithole prison camp.

There are very few on this forum that that can claim half that or have experienced any of that. Including Trump, who by the way, had bad feet back in ’68 while McCain was a POW.

Yes he can . But he shouldn't expect us to respect him for his actions while in public service .Different animal altogether .

Chances are, that would be impossible. McCain is an 83 year old man that has had one blood clot removed from his brain and now suffers from an aggressive form of brain cancer. There is a chance that his current mental health may not be what it once was (but I'm no doctor)

But we also have a man that was first elected to public office in 1983. Whether you all like him or not, people from Arizona have, and they have continued to elect him. RINO or not, my personal opinion is that guy has at least earn a modicum of respect.

And in reference to Trump's statement"...I like people that weren't captured..." that speaks for itself. A close friend in High School his dad spent 2 years as a POW in Germany with 2 broken legs when his B-17 was shot down and it crashed into a farm with him trapped in the nose. If alive, I doubt he would have invited Trump to his funeral either.
