Ace hardware --- not sure if they are nation-wide or not.

Amazon has been fair when I had issues with their stuff. (nearly expired dog food shipped to me, a security cam from their 'warehouse deals' that someone else changed the password on and therefore bricked, wrong sized shirt)

T. Rowe price --- 401K is there and they have good phone support, unlike some other brokerages.

Worst ever: AOL. I was never their customer, but someone signed up using my CC number. The lady accused me of signing up and wanting past service for free by making up a story about someone else using my CC.

Blue Seas Systems. I ordered a fuse box panel and forgot to order the one with the cover. I emailed and offered to buy the cover, they said they don't sell them, but would send one. It arrived just as they said. Quality products.

Besides the obvious like TGS and Mimi's Jewelry, I'm going to agree that Amazon Prime has been all I could ask for many years now.

#1 for me is LLBean.

High marks for Amazon and Costco too.

Even though historically I have had good experience with Apple, the last couple of visits they have been more focused on selling me new stuff rather than trying to help me with my existing equipment.

Dyson. We bought a vacuum almost 10 years ago. Still runs great and the two times that I wore a part out - I called the 800 # and they mailed me a new part without charge and without questions.

I never bug my car insurer Geico. I added a couple of things to my coverage and then used them but I added them after the problem occurred. Since I'd been with them for over 20 years they just backed dated to the most recent 6 month term. Wasn't much money and they handled it well.

Discover.

1. When you call, your CS Rep is located in the United States. You know that because he/she states "this is Carol in Omaha" for example.
2. The reps have the ability and empowerment to solve issues on the spot...and they do.

Amex, Citi & Chase should take lessons from them.

I'd have to say that Chic-Fil-A would be the best overall.

STI is entirely total utter complete SHIT. Nothing like calling about a $2000+ handgun and being told to piss off. Mad

Be careful about how you recognize these customer service heros.

One time I was getting superlative service from an information provider, and when I wrote a glowing letter about how terrific it was, it was posted on the employee coffee room wall, and shortly after, service started to tank. Apparently some bean counter figured if customers were THAT happy, they were spending too much on it.

Another time, another company, I wrote a letter praising an employee who had really helped me out when I needed it. They fired him. What he had done was against policy.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

That was crap.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Always great customer service from:
America's Tire
Apple
Heckler & Koch
Top Gun Supply
Vitamix, even though they are sketchy with communication.

Amazon used to be great, but not happy lately with shipping times with the Prime membership.....
