I have really enjoyed learning how to butcher a hog and cure my own hams and bacon. Those days are over for me. It's a small price to pay for good health. The most enjoyable part was being able to share the experience and the pig with my imaginary friends.

I'm on my way to Duke Medical Weight loss center in Raleigh. I need to lose weight and hope this 40 year old program will give me a kick start. It beats the heck out of bariatric surgery, something I hope to avoid. Big Grin

This Karma is for home made bacon and home made sausage. The bacon is fully cured. The sausage is grilled and canned....just pop the jar open and fry, or crumble into marinara.

The young hogs we get were certified humanely raised in a clean, sealed environment, were corn fed and antibiotic free. We did it all. They walked in and left in vacuum packed packages of pork goodies.

I'll pick a winner when I return from Duke.

Must be in the US, must love pork, extra points for pet pictures because I enjoy them.

Yes!

Good luck on the weight loss. I hope this doesn't mean you'll stop making bacon! Wink

Jeff, please enter me.
I'm sitting at the kitchen table with my first cup of coffee now empty. The fridge doesn't have bacon and now I'm thinking of heading out to the store for bacon.

Jeff, I wish you the best of luck in trying to lose weight. I know it isn't easy. I found good success in modifying my diet and completely removing soda/soft drinks from my diet but I also began exercising quite a bit. I found that I like cycling and was fortunate enough to live near a lake with a 7 mile loop. I often would be half way around the lake and think to myself "fuck this I'm tired of cycling" but being 3.5 miles from my car I was forced to finish the loop. Often by the time I finished my first lap the endorphins would kick in and I'd do a second lap. Big Grin

Please toss my name in the hat. I LOVE LOVE LOVE bacon. Extra points for pet pics? Here is a pic of me and my best friend.
