No manual though. Frown
Though Subaru builds a very nice vehicle, they have far too much of a fascination with CVT's for me to ever consider owning one. Just not my cup of tea.

Wife has an 18 Outback with the cvt. The cvt is ok and much better than the old 4sp auto in her previous Forester. They have extended the warranty on the transmission as well.

Really wish they would either bring the manual back with for the Outback XT, or up the power in the Crosstrek.

the '73 Vista Cruiser:

the '76 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon:

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I remember when Tony gave Carmela a Porsche Cayenne.

She told one of her girlfriends about it and described it "Cayenne, like the pepper"

I've read that the 3.6R handles the CVT much better than the base H4 engine.
The new Outback XT should be interesting, even with the CVT.

Shame the dropped the Legacy wagon though, a new Legacy XT Wagon would be great.

My issue with the CVT isn't how well it does or doesn't work, it's that I just don't care for CVT transmissions as a whole.

100% in agreement with you there
I think some of the mfgs are noticing & starting to 'step' their CVTs to simulate 'gears', which partially defeats the purpose.

I'm assuming your E is the 7AT? The one in the C comes pretty close to DCT/DSG shift speed, so I've been pretty happy with it.

That is my thought, too. I don't care for SUVs. I don't want to drive a truck. But a wagon . . . I could see a wagon.

Major Thread Drift...

One of the baddest wagon's of all time. Jim Hand's 1971 Pontiac LeMans wagon sporting a naturally aspirated Pontiac 455 (bored and stroked to 473). Dubbed, "The Earth Mover". Big Grin

Runs mid 11's

Not my cup o tea either, but it works fine for the Mrs.

I'm continually annoyed by how few vehicles offer a manual anymore.

Oh how times have changed. 11's were once smokin' fast in the quarter. Now you can buy a factory stock MB E63 wagon that can run mid 12's all day long on street tires, then transport you home in comfort, quiet, and style, and then to work on Monday.

Guys, just a point of clarification. I don't own the car I posted pics of in my initial post. Its just a car for sale I ran across that interests me.

My wife drives an Audi Q5, and until last week when my vehicle was totalled, I drove a VW golf sport wagon. It's great. All wheel, more cargo room than the Q5, and drives like a car. I like the German engineering - prefer it to the Honda I used to drive.

Still drive my Audi Avant (wagon) a6 1000 miles or so for work every month. 229,000 now and like me will be retiring soon. Fun to drive and keeps pace with most everything on highway.parked on weekend as I drive my Jeep but it’s been a hell of a car. All miles have been business and over the years in service the average rate on reimbursement has been $.52 so it’s paid for itself several times.

I've been a fan of wagons since (embarrassingly) this:

and this:

And this!

I'm no GM fan, but I do think I'd like to try out a CTS-V wagon (though I appreciate the less-than-stellar review of it posted earlier in this thread).

That Sportwagon R that bigdeal posted looks pretty darned sweet!

Back to the OP: There's a 2012 E63 AMG wagon on BringAtrailer right now. (Link)

God bless America.

Love everything about them. If Audi brings the new RS6 Avant to the US, I’m in trouble.
