My wife and I took the kids and went early voting today. Pollworkers seemed shocked when I looked each in the eye and thanked them for working the polls on a Saturday. I guess they don't get a lot of that.

Voted early yesterday morning. Arrived 10 minutes before the polls opened at 0700 and was about 6th in line. Poll worker said it's been extremely busy all week. And this is a solidly RED area of Texas.

Voted yesterday afternoon around 4:30. No line at all, only one other voter filling out a ballot during the time I was there.

Wife and I mailed our ballots in last week.

The county I live in actually has a ballot measure protecting the 2nd Amendment against further encroachment. Basically said if the resolution passes, the county will not recognize/enforce any new gun laws passed by the state or feds. Even though it's Oregon, this county is super conservative and I'll bet it passes by a huge margin.

Douglas County Ballot Measure 10-165:

"A "yes" vote adopts and makes part of the Douglas County Code an ordinance preserving the right to bear arms and related rights
under the United States and Oregon State Constitution. lf approved the ordinance requires:

Any law or regulation in violation of the U.S. or Oregon Constitution pertaining to the right to bear arms to be deemed as
unconstitutional and void.

Prohibits the use of Douglas County funds, facilities and employees to enforce any element of any law, rule, or order that
infringes upon the right to keep and bear arms or related rights such as (not exclusive): possess lawfully owned firearms without
registration requirements; freely possess, manufacture, transfer, sell and buy firearms, including semi-automatic "assault style"
firearms, high capacity feed systems, firearm accessories and ammunition.

Requires the Sheriff to determine whether any law or regulation pertaining to the right to bear arms or related rights violates the
U.S. or Oregon Constitution.

Allows Douglas County to bring civil actions to enforce this ordinance. Provides financial penalties for violations of the ordinance."

Why are you guys all voting early? In VA, as far as I know, you need a reason that you can't make it to the polling station. I always just squeeze it in before or after work. I've never had a boss be mad at me if I was late because of lines to vote.
