Yeppers, 2 minutes early. I guess that's better than 2 minutes late.

People who said everything was turned off. Just side button switched off, or device fully powered down?

As of this writing, only received the WARNING over the TV (satellite connection). Haven’t received anything else, over my iPad (which I’m currently using), nor over my hard-wire landline phone, nor my weather alert monitor. Since the alert was for a 1/2 hour duration, guess we’ll see if other media activations happen within that time.

What’s the flight time for missiles from Russia, 1/2 hour?

A big nothing. I just clicked the button on the right side of my phone, the one that would send a call to voicemail, and the noise stopped.
They do this every few years and the news made it sound like this one was something extra special. I guess not.
Another made up "breaking news" type non-event.

ok, so the carriers have to send it

but as a private user, and the one who pays the bills, I said I don't want it

so why did I get it

had all my alerts turned off - don't give a flying fuck about amber alerts and all that horseshit

so why do I not have control over a device that I've paid for

Because the .gov controls the airwaves the carriers use, and forced them to push it (much like they do with the TV providers).
The .gov is finally wise to the fact that not as many people listen to radio or watch live TV anymore, so they needed a new way to push national alerts. This is the new way.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.
