No point in shouting that it wasn't an insurrection. Better to ask why no one has been charged with insurrection, let alone convicted of it. The FBI and Garland know they'd be laughed out of court with such a charge and weak evidence. This should be brought up every time someone calls it an insurrection.

My tinfoil hat leads me to believe Cruz crafted his words to pin the day on Trump with the intent to get Trump out of the 2024 race. Trump is Cruz biggest opponent for the White House so calling this a terrorist attack (under Trumps watch) helps Cruz become the front runner in the race to the White House.

And good on Tucker for calling him out that Ted knows what his words mean and that his reason for using the word terrorist is a lie.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. He claimed that he always uses the term terrorist when referring to people who attack police officers. He says he wasn't referring to the people that were demonstrating that day.

Tucker held his feet to the fire and told him he doesn't believe he doesn't know better than to use the word terrorist because he knows good and well the Democrats have been using that term for a year now as a reference to the Republicans who broke in.

I'm disappointed in Cruz.

I've been telling the talking heads on TV to go eat shit for the past year for using the term "insurrection". I don't know if any of you have noticed, but in the last few days the preferred terminology has been "violence" or "attack". I'm suspicious when narrative terminology changes all of a sudden, particularly after Garland's BS address. (I'm not sure what I'm suspicious of, but my spidey sense is tingling.)

I'd like to think Cruz is showing some strategic vision beyond a party nomination... But then I remind myself that he's a politician. In the meantime I'll just put on my tinfoil hat and wonder why the FBI/Justice Department hasn't made any moves against Ray Epps.

I just want for us to win elections, guys. I'm not attempting to defend Cruz. I'm saying all of this is a distraction, a tremendous, counterproductive distraction.

Cruz should not have said what he did, but he did say it and there's nothing to be done about it.

Unless there’s a better person running against Cruz I’ll still be voting for him-regardless of his use of the term “terrorist”.

God knows I’ve stepped on my dick more than once, I’m willing to give him a pass on using the dems vocabulary…he’s probably inundated with it daily and just wasn’t thinking.

And frankly he’s a better congressman than John Cornyn

Exactly. I don’t get why so many Republicans will immediately not support a fellow Republican because of a minor misstep or two. If you don’t support him then a Dem is most likely taking his spot which is a much worse outcome.

Democrats seem to have that figured out and will stick with their candidate even to a fault.

The difference is, the Dems are loyal to their party, and their commie-Leftist agenda above all else.

Conservatives are loyal to the U.S. Constitution and the well-being of this country.

Tucker pressed Cruz hard tonight, Cruz seemed almost a little disoriented, not convincing. I'm not sure the massive pressure and lies from the dims and the press don't have him on his heels. What he said yesterday won't matter as much as what he says coming up. He needs to take a conspicuous offensive, he needs to be our guy for all to see. We'll all be watching, he has the spotlight now, use it.

Ted Cruz is calling in the QRF for press relationships (or should be). He has to repair this embarrassing situation and get right; he’s from Texas damnit.

Hoping he comes to jeebus on this. Should serve noticed to the other politicians, words and deeds matter.

BTW, wasn’t even going to watch, but did … EPIC! Big Grin

I read earlier today that the folks arrested in connection with the January 6th events at the Capitol came from 48 of our 50 States, even Alaska and Hawaii; only Vermont and North Dakota aren't represented in the published arrests and data.

I think they were all wrong, misguided, etc., these people, and they definitely don't represent me, and it's now a bullshit stain we now have to carry around indirectly as a party, but it's a trip to see how widespread those people were.

That alone makes me a touch more sympathetic for them and those terrible choices.

It can't be blamed on one little pocket of dumbasses, they came from all over, literally all over this country, almost every damn state. It seems to speak to the power and reach of media narratives as much as anything. I dunno. It's strange.

I was surprised by that statistic, 48 of 50 states.

I just watch the Tucker video. Thank you for posting it. Cruz said something stupid that he shouldn’t have said and he acknowledges that. Time to move along.

If there were camera on me recording my every utterance constantly, I’m sure I would be embarrassed often. We are all fallible humans. Cruz is intelligent and he is on our side.
