The Force is strong, ain't it.

I really do not have a choice buying a bunch of 5.56/9mm/7.62X51.
I am doing a lot of range time with the older daughter, so it's worth it.

I've been shooting PP in 5.56 for a while now and have been pleased. Just ordered 1k of the 7.62x51 the other day.

Unless you can exclude 22 and still admit to have over 100 thousands rounds of ammo, you are probably not an ammo-holic!
My brother is well into the 100k+ range. When someone approaches him with a gift of ammo he doesn't even ask what caliber! If you have 2 20mm ammo cans full of ammo for which you do not even have guns that would be a sign

Good to know you all and thank you.
The description says to expect 2880fps which is pretty fast and a tiny bit faster than the Winchester NATO by 100fps.
Granted the PPU is a 145gr projectile vs the normal 147gr spec.

Well, their 7.62x39 is loaded a little towards the hotter end of the spectrum. Well within specs, mind you, but towards the hotter end of the specs.

Hot is good and the European ammunition seems in general to push the limits a bit.

Got to love it.

So if I keep ammo in the fridge and in the bathroom, under the bed, in the kitchen cabinets, in the sock drawer, pantry. Do I need a intervention?

Uh, no, you don't need an intervention.

The rules of Ammoholics Anonymous are a contradiction in terms.

1) We are not anonymous

2} We are ammoholics however

3) Rather than seek treatment, we revel and rejoice in our addiction because we know one day it will pay off. It may be in our lifetimes, but more probably in in our offspring's lifetimes. We will have them prepared.

We're like the Maynard G. Krebs in modern America. We're different and off the wall, just the way we should be.

As ammoholics, what would a reasonable ideal stash look like.

Here's what I would want:
10k of 5.45
7.5K IMI M193 5.56
4K 7.62X51 NATO
5K 9mm

What would your ideal stash look like, within reason of course.

My ideal stash has nothing to do with reason.

You should also reinforce the sock drawer, they use very thing wood on drawers.

So much of my shooting needs/goals revolve around suppressed shooting I have to break it up accordingly between a stash for preparedness and a stash to keep me shooting during a panic.

That said:

8k M193 5.56
6k 9mm (at least 4k of which is 147gr)
2k 7.62x51
2k 300 BLK (this gets pricey, but hey its a wishlist)
20k+ Standard velocity .22

The other thing I'll note that not many folks have talked about as of yet, during the last panic some of the few rounds I could reliably find (even at Wal-Mart or the like) were 12 and 20 guage in 7.5 and 8 shot. I know myself and others turned to shooting more shotgun sports as a result in an effort to not dig too deep into our remaining stash. This being the begining of dove season we're likely to see some good deals on cases of 12/20 guage over the next few months. My plan is to start buying a case here and there as I see good deals locally. I do not however want to impact my ability to put away towards the list above in so doing.

I've neglected my S&W snub, so just picked up several boxes of 158Gr hollow points as well as several boxes of Speer Gold Dots in 9mm from SGA.
