Mine was a 66 Ford F150. I paid $500 for it in 1983 and my dad helped me rebuild the engine. I don't regret selling it, I'm just nostalgic about the time I spent with my dad. I sold it about a year later and got a 78 Camaro.

No, but I do regret selling a few after that.
My 1990 Grand Cherokee is one. My 1980 Olds W30 is another.
My wife's 1989 CR-X is another. Along with her 86 Porsche.

Jmho, but keeping a first car is just living in the past. Unless your passion is restoration, of which there is no evidence if it sits unused.

I don't regret selling any of the cars I've owned. Most were fun or at least facilitated fun. Each decade brings big improvements, except the 1980's which at least brought major changes. My current vehicle would outperform most anything from 50 years ago in terms of acceleration and handling. Times change, needs change, interests change.

It would be fun to drive my first car again, but I suspect it would be no more than a fleeting thrill of nostalgia. Lots of great memories!

I hated parting with it but because of the situation and its condition I made the right choice. If I could get it back in like new condition I would do it in a heartbeat. After convincing Mrs. Pal of course.

Still have mine and will never sell it. However I wish mine drove like yours but hopefully it will someday.

1992 Ford Mustang LX got it in 1998 with about 75k miles and drove it for 7 years and put another 75k miles on it. Then it needed the suspension fully replaced and brakes.
I bought a 1996 Mustang GT and parked the 1992 for another day.
Well, here we are 18 years later and it’s not been driven since.
However, I have been parts collecting over the years. I have redone the entire suspension, put a larger rear end in it, with larger brakes all around, fully stripped the interior to clean up and replaces, as well as removed all the surface rust.
I have a fully built turbo motor, complete new fuel system, all new weather stripping, got new wheels.
Someday, I will have time to work on it. I have been slowly chipping away here but something else with more of a priority always seems to pop up.

Have always loved hat car. Hated the wheels but when it was driving never had the money for new wheels.

My first car was a '38 Chevy sedan I paid $25 for. Rod started knocking so I sold it to the junk yard. I don't regret it at all. I have sold some that I wish I had back now, but we can't keep them all.....can we???

I don't regret it but would like to have it back! 1966 Coronett 500 with a 383. Got me through college years and was traded for a 1975 Monte Carlo that had an electonic ignition issue and was traded for a 1977 Monte Carlo that was a fabulous car.

I wish I would have had the option. My first two cars were both ‘65 Chevelle SSs. Both were stolen and stripped. A first grader could get into one in about a minute. I still love the body style, and the second Chevelle, in particular, was very fast. I wish I had bought back the second, restored it, and applied the lessons learned to keep it safe. Prices are coming down on them in BAT, but I can’t bring myself to have the discussion with my wife.

I do. My first car was a Model A Ford pickup that I needed to get all my extra tasks complete, and to take me to the elk hunting part of Idaho. It was virtually indestructible!!! I left it on the home lot when I joined the army at age 17. My mother sold it (without asking me) while I was stationed in Germany. I have to admit that I did get a bit excited when I found out that she had sold it.

First car was actually a 75 Caddy Coupe Deville given to me by my parents. Don't count it as my first though as I quickly sold it and bought a 75 MGB. Unfortunately totaled it. Currently shopping for another MGB. If I didn't total it I would regret selling it as I do regret selling several others I have owned over the years.

If you have the room to keep it without hardship, keep it. If you aren’t interested when you have more time available, then sell it. It’s not going to loose value. When I was in high school my dad had two ‘65 Malibu’s and a 66 Mustang. What I wouldn’t give to have those back.

Drove my first car in college, then the first part of my military career. A ‘69 Impala two-door Sport Coupe with a factory 427 and factory Muncie four-speed. But consecutive overseas tours and life in general dictated selling it. Many times I have waxed nostalgic and thought “What if I had kept it?” But my hobbies now take most of my time and I really have no regrets.

Not really, but my first few cars were pretty cool. 67 charger, 70 MGB-GT, 67 Camaro with 4spd and a 70 Baracuda with a 4 spd.

I do. 1993 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stepside extended cab 4x4. I think that may have been the best truck I have had. It didn't have all this electronic bullshit. It had a bench seat and a ball chiller. White with a red interior. It wasn't exactly a chick magnet but the chicks did dig it. Fun times
