This is why I do not care if anyone who is attempting to sell items here gets offended because I post in their ad for members to proceed with caution.

I removed another ad he put up just today, for a Nightforce scope, and I removed an ad from five days ago for a Walther pistol, neither of which had any responses in the forum.

I cannot stress this enough- approach all transactions with skepticism. If it doesn't feel right, just walk away.

I added my gunbroker username and score to my sell ad. I figure an 18+ year history and A+ feedback score will help alleviate any concerns. since im new here, sorta

No pictures on a for sale post is a huge red flag to me.

If you are legit and honest, you'll figure out how to post up a couple of pics.

that shouldn't neccesarily be a flag, I don't use photobucket anymore and haven't found a new one to use yet. they're just a PIA but I always offer my email to request pics.

How did you figure it out? He doesn't talk like a typical Nigeria scam artist.

One thing I noticed was in this thread he says he buys ammunition locally at a Las Vegas store but listed his location as Pennsylvania.

Yea, its a big flag. You are claiming 18+ years of selling on gunbroker but finding a replcement for photobucket is too hard? Most people here figured it out in order to post cat pictures yet you can't figure it out for business?

You may not see it, but that is a hugh bright red flag and its waving like theres a hurricane going on.

So, he registered in July and posted for four months n the forum, establishing a reputation. Then, he posted three ads last five days and failed to rip anyone off.

In other words, he wasted his own time, and now that you see the pattern, be very wary, very skeptical. If a deal doesn't feel right- anything at all- then, just walk away.

If it's too good to be true, it's just that- not true.

He always struck me as a little bit “fishy” too. But I’m curious about how he was planning to run this scam if he posted that he wouldn’t ship in his ad? Doesn’t that leave a FTF transaction as the only choice remaining?
