You have a testy exchange with another member, and suddenly, it goes from a forgettable squabble, to us "treating everyone like shit because they're new".

That's not a leap at all, is it?

if im out of line, ban me. no hard feelings if that's what you choose. I simply don't like being accused of being a scammer.

Do you make a habit of jumping to conclusions, or have you saved up for your visits here? Who said anything about banning you? Just take it easy.

Good grief. You were never in any danger of being banned.

It's funny- I see this kind of thing from time to time here- "Oh, please don't ban me!"- when there is no such thing in the wind. It's funny because now, I've gotten attuned to the sound of it. It gets my attention, y'know? Isn't that funny?

They know there's money here and the members are nice. Time on and posting locations are less valuable as clues.

Caution, common sense and caution.

Nice until a member gets ripped off, then all bets are off. Wink

Thanks for lookin out Para.

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

I'm glad any scammer gets the extreme prejudice boot. I still, however, don't quite understand how he outed himself.

As a reminder that there are those who will go through great and elaborate lengths to separate one from their money. Some run a short con and are easier to spot. Some run a long con and are more dificult to spot. It is the indivduals in the sale who have the responsibility to determine if things are above board or shady.

This time of year it can be easier to get caught up in a less than desirable transaction whether it be here or elsewhere on the internet.

At least that is why I think you started it. A simple "check yourself before you wreck yourself." Smile

Edited to add: And to out a theif for the benefit of all.

Is there a way to keep money safe, with a third party or something, until an item is received satisfactorily, at which point the money would be released? eBay in effect does this. How can a private buyer and seller surely protect themselves in the internet world?
