That really was! I wonder what happened with their offshoot?

I bought a P6. Needed to know things. Here I am.

And, still sans unitard.

I think when I was new everyone else was, too. There were less than 3500 members then.

I think I was the class clown back then. Life was crappy due to a lot of dumb decisions but being here helped me a lot.

Don’t recall anything really remarkable. My first post was to The SigForum armorer concerning a P229 I had purchased. The reply was quick, thorough, and addressed my need. I stuck around. I don’t recall getting crossways with para, but do recall, again-and-again, the brotherhood displayed here.

Joined to get some info on reloading. Landed up buying two pistols from the classifieds. Got busted once for violating the physical appearance rule. Still maintain a low profile.

I joined when I got my first Sig, a GSR 1911. I think the only problem I had was commenting on someone's appearance and I was set straight. So many here have much more knowledge than I do so most of the time I enjoy reading and learning. I've been on several forums over the years and always found this one to be the best, I attribute that to the membership and the moderation.

I lurked for a while before joining so I got a pretty good lay of the land.

I've never been the kind of guy to walk into a room & start swinging my dick around, so I didn't have any problems. I remember being corrected on some minor thing by you (Para) years ago but I don't even remember now what it was.

I've gained a lot of knowledge here & spent a fair bit of money because of you all.

Still don't own a Glock.

Thanks for a great place to hang.

Came for info on the P250, ended up with a KelTec P11 & later a P320

Only ribbing I've gotten on here was a post I made about Glocks & limpwristing.
Buddy & his wife both could almost consistently stovepipe fail her G19, yet I could 15rd mag dump it without a problem.
That was years ago & I'm not even sure if they still have the G19, they both slipped over to the left side of the room, so we avoid much political/gun talk around them [but her parents both enjoy competitive shooting & they were both shooters before] Roll Eyes

Water under the bridge, don’t know yet.
Parabaz the Grumpy is telling you that it absolutely is water under the bridge. That goes for all parties involved, including you. A longtime, regular, well-behaved member got slapped on the wrist pretty hard. That should be all the satisfaction you need in the matter. It bothers me when I have to do such a thing.

A word of advice for you- lay off the heavy scripture references. It's off-putting. There are many Christians in this forum but you don't see them making their posts partially unreadable because of their faith.

My experience was very good. I was an unregistered lurker/visitor so that I had a firm idea of the ways and tenor of SigForum. Based on that experience my formal joining and participation was without any unexpected surprises. Only one hiccup I can recall, was posting a link to a verboten website ( a parody site, IIRC ), no big heartburn.
I have I think navigated life, and my time on this forum, so far without venturing from dumb into pure stupid territory. There’s still time, though. Roll Eyes

It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure I lurked for awhile before making my first post. I think my first post was a karma to give away a leather holster for a P239. So, I think I had an easy transition into the lounge.

I wanted to add that shortly after I joined Bruce Gray started offering training classes in the Sacramento area where we lived. My son and I took a beginner’s class, and were hooked. That experience, the fellowship, the friendship of Bruce and later Randy Lee and others (e.g. Flork) changed my life for the better (I think).

I stumbled upon this site after searching for more info about the P229/9 that I had recently purchased. I found it to be more of a compilation of resources for much more than just Sig Sauer firearms. The breadth of knowledge and folks willing to share this and help was refreshing. I also found out my love of bacon was shared by many other folks on here.

I joined in 2007 and came in too hot and remember getting into something with member TankSoldier which I regretted and apologized for.

This forum has been absolutely great and an invaluable asset for SO much information!

My first pistol was a p228. I wanted a second gun and saw a Nickel plated p229 in a gun mag and instantly fell in love with it. I set off to all the gun stores near me and could not find one anywhere. The internet was still kind of young back then but a quick search led me to sigforum.

I asked how I could get a nickel sig p229, hence my forum name. I learned that it wasn't a production item but instead LEO overruns sold off to distributors. I was also guided to a distributor who had one in stock by the membership and snatched it up.

I came solely seeking information to get that gun and quickly found a community that was much more than just gun owners and collectors. It was politics, music, film, financial, humor and much more. Over 20 years later and this is the only forum that I think of as home. All the others are temporary or I feel like a visitor not a member.

20 years ago on the net anonymity was a given. You could talk shit to anyone, say whatever you liked no matter how rude and you got away with it. That was not the case on sigforum. That set it apart, Para, the mods, and the community wouldn't settle for any bullshit. We held each other to a level of social grace that other forums didn't hold you to.

I would be lying if I said sigforum didn't have a part to play in me maturing from young kid to young man.

Smooth process for me. And after a few weeks, I bailed on the other gun forums I was on.
No regrets!

I had a thread locked/removed early on. I politely questioned why and was politely told it belonged in an existing thread. I completely understood why once I thought about so I apologized and got on with life.
