You may very well be correct, sdy, that the drive for O'Keefe's removal is coming from the shadowy leftists who bankroll useful idiots in this country. If that's the case, then the suggestion made by SIGnified that O'Keefe should create a new company would seem to be the way to go.

If he does manage to retain control of his creation, I can't imagine any of those employees will stay employed for too long. I think most of them would leave on their own, and PDQ. The ones who stay would likely face termination for any cause to be found or perhaps "downsized".

While I agree that James O'Keefe is the face of PV, and the organization has a track record of doing solid work, it wouldn't surprise me at all if his success and theatrics went to his head and he turned into a diva ... but, it also wouldn't surprise me if there were some on his staff that had a melt down. Either... or both... could be true.

It also wouldn't surprise me if some outside Leftist group infiltrated the organization and was looking to create chaos within the team.

There is a flip side to this coin that we need to be cautious of. Those same employees making the accusations, right or wrong, KNOW things about the operation. Donor lists, tactics, unidentified whistleblowers, current and future targets etc...and you don't want to alienate these employees or drive them into a position where they switch sides...or, worse yet, stay on and leak to the Leftists looking for his scalp.

PV works best in the shadows and with all of their success combined with his theatrics, I'm concerned they have been moving into the limelight, which may throw too much attention on what they do and and how they do it.

This whole thing kind of reminds me of the time when Apple fired Steve Jobs from the company he founded back in the mid 80s. Even back then Jobs was an asshole, an autocrat who demanded control. And demanded perfection from employees. Apple floundered for years without him, made horrible decisions. When they hired him back, Jobs brought in the iMac and OS X and shortly after that, iTunes and the iPod. The rest is history.

But like others, I also think there is substance to the possibility that a leftist-driven coup happened at PV. In recent years, O'Keefe has been through a lot of shit, including the FBI wringer.

If the accusations are false, than I agree. Cut 'em loose, but there is a real danger to that move. But, if even some of the accusations are true, now would be a dandy time for James O'Keefe to self-assess, drop a mea culpa, explain how he values the team and let's get back to doing the mission. Tyrants don't do well on teams, and word travels fast.

There is a time and place for both firm direction and moderation, and a good leader recognizes when each is appropriate.

If they're true? Who gives a shit if they're true? All these accusations reveal is that he might be a jerk. Here's a newsflash. Most very successful, driven people are jerks. It's part of why they're successful.
