If you are afraid of your constiuents, you obviously no longer consider them constiuents, but rather serfs.

No kidding. Did these cowards ever even really look at the people protesting? They had bouncy houses out there for their kids for chrissakes! They aren't exactly French revolutionaries storming the Bastille.

It's a screenshot of the tweet, cropped, then posted as a regular picture would be.

When asked about intel gathering on protesters, Ottawa Police Chief says they will be coming after protesters for months to come.

“If you are involved in this protest, we will actively look to identify you and follow up with financial sanctions and criminal charges. Absolutely.”

Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland: "The names of both individuals and entities as well as crypto wallets have been shared by the RCMP with financial institutions and accounts have been frozen and more accounts will be frozen."

Bitcoin wallet company Nunchuk announced that they’d gotten a request to freeze accounts from the government, “Yesterday, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice sent us a Mareva Injunction, ordering us to freeze and disclose information about the assets involved in the #FreedomConvoy2022 movement.” But Nunchuk explained to the clueless government that they don’t hold any money like a custodial financial institution, they don’t collect user information apart from emails, and they don’t hold the keys to any of the wallets — that it’s all private to the user, by design.

“Please look up how self custody and private keys work,” the company chided the government. “When the Canadian dollar becomes worthless, we will be here to serve you too.”

Edge wallet had an even more direct response to the fascistic request from the government.

Regardless of whether the protests resonate with individuals or not, financial seizure is an unprecedented action that must be taken seriously. It’s with great consideration that we would like to share our official response to the request that Canadian users’ Edge accounts be frozen:

No.

“And most importantly, we can’t, even if we wanted to.”

Quebec: Hundreds of protesters join trucker convoy, with more on the way
One huge convoy with many large vehicles is rolling toward Quebec City from the Beauce on Highway 73.

Author of the article: Philip Authier • Montreal Gazette
Publishing date:Feb 19, 2022 • 53 minutes ago

QUEBEC — Undaunted by the police shutdown of the anti-health-restriction demonstrations in Ottawa, thousands of protesters hopped into their trucks and other vehicles Saturday and rolled into the provincial capital.

For the second weekend this month, trucks, tractors and semis made their appearance on the streets near the National Assembly despite cold weather and a snowstorm. They were allowed to blow their horns during two blocks of time but not continuously as part of a deal negotiated with police.

Even though one organizer had said they planned to jam up Quebec, they followed the rules, parking their trucks in designated areas. They are all expected to leave by Sunday evening as happened the last time such a protest took place Feb. 5-6.

Police confirmed around noon there had been three arrests, but the mood was festive, with parents pushing baby carriages and colourful mascots offering free hugs. It was better organized than last time with food, drinks and T-shirts on sale. Some trucks carried in portable toilets.

By the end of the day, police said the total number of arrests for the day was four. Two of the arrests were for assault and two for indecent actions. A total of 46 tickets were issued for violations of the municipal code, 40 for violations of the highway code and 13 for parking violations.

The protesters are not satisfied with the Legault government’s schedule to gradually ease all COVID-19 health measures by March 14. They want the government to revoke the health emergency declaration and mask mandates in schools. They also fear Quebec will bring back the vaccination passport if a sixth wave of the virus hits.

Some of the more radical elements of the group want Premier François Legault removed from office.

But the situation in Ottawa was on the minds of many of the protesters who seemed determined to fight on.

“I want to raise my hat and congratulate the warriors in Ottawa,” Bernard “Rambo” Gauthier, one of the convoy organizers, told the crowd after taking to the stage set up in front of the legislature. “There, it was a siege. Here, it is a peaceful demonstration.”

He and another organizer, Kevin “Big” Grenier, wore Quebec Nordiques hockey jerseys. They were treated like rock stars by the crowd.

Gauthier also appeared to be bargaining with the Legault government, saying his group wants to be heard and see something in return for demonstrating peacefully.

“We have broken nothing,” Gauthier said. “We are here peacefully. It’s the second time we do this despite the fact the media is always nailing us. I hope the government returns the favour.

“We’re not giving up. We’re doing this for our children and grandchildren and our seniors.”

“We are here to denounce all the suffering the Quebec people have experienced,” Grenier added in his speech. “We are here to yell on behalf of the less fortunate, handicapped persons, and people who cannot defend themselves; people who are not vaccinated, or sequestered and all the older people who were trapped in their CHSLDs and deprived of human warmth.”

Grenier then called for a minute of silence to remember all the collateral victims of the government’s pandemic policies.

The rally closed with the crowd shouting “freedom, freedom, freedom.”

While the protest was peaceful, media crews faced regular harassment by some protesters especially while reporting live.

It is the second time in two weeks such a convoy protest has come to Quebec City. The last one was during the winter Carnaval. While thousands converged and many tickets were issued, there were no major incidents. Carnaval took place as usual.

This time, organizers encouraged protesters to bring all manner of heavy machinery. Some, including a large tree extractor, were parked on René Lévesque Blvd. near the National Assembly. Most were adorned with anti-government posters and Canadian and Quebec flags.

Police blocked off two lanes where they tolerated trucks being parked. At 5 p.m., there were about 60 parked.

As promised by Quebec City Mayor Bruno Marchand, police have refined their tactics since last weekend.

Heavy municipal vehicles were parked strategically on various side streets to funnel protesters to certain areas. Police have said they will allow the protest, but will not tolerate any vandalism or criminal acts.

The group had plans to hold a music festival they tagged “Woodstock for freedom,” but Quebec City officials say they have to hold a permit to stage it so the idea was scrapped.

Police actions to clear out downtown Ottawa do not appear to have dampened the energy of protesters.

“It’s been two years and it (the battle) is not over,” said one protester as she stood on the street waving her flag at passing vehicles.

One woman was seen holding a large yellow sign that read: “Hold the line.”

“You get the message right?” she said to a reporter.

The satire has become reality. From the Bee:

Socialists Condemn Workers Of The World For Uniting

OTTAWA—Socialists around the world are condemning the trucker freedom protest in Canada as the working class unites to defend their human rights.

"When workers of the world unite against overbearing government mandates, that's literal fascism," said a sobbing socialist Prime Minister Justin Trudeau from deep within his top-secret bunker underneath Washington, D.C. "True, compassionate socialism is when the government partners with private corporations to force experimental drugs on the populace and threaten their very livelihoods if they don't. Everyone knows that."

According to sources, socialists were initially thrilled by the trucker convoy, as they had mistaken it for a bread line. To their dismay, they soon found out that it was a toxic freedom march organized by the working class against the Canadian bourgeois.

"As compassionate leaders, we must send heavily armed military and police personnel to stop these united working-class people before they take over and spread their freedom-loving fascism everywhere. It's the moral thing to do," said Trudeau.

Reports say Trudeau is weighing his options to quell the protest, including calling them Nazis, hitting them with drone strikes, or releasing a herd of angry moose into the crowd.

I think Trudeau stepped in it. The suspension of Parliament is huge.

Sigfreund posted a list from history of what happened in 1930’s Germany. And I agree this is following that.

Whenever you make a Nazi corrolary people rightly take notice. That is because we have the pleasure of hindsight. We know how it turned out. We tell ourselves it can never turn out that way again. And because we know how it turned out we laugh off any comparisons. “That will never happen here”.

But what if we didn’t know how it turned out? What if we didn’t have the historical record that showed the depravity of the Nazi regime? What if we didn’t know how it turned out? Would we laugh off what is happening and say “it can’t get THAT bad?”

What is "that bad" when you have no relation to the past?

Canada may not be 1933 Germany. This may not be Trudeau’s Reichstag fire. Canadian Martial Law may not usher in 1930’s style Nuremberg Laws. It may not turn out as bad as that era did.

But it is sure looking like it's on the same path.

And man, that song is perfect for what's happening.

How does this not scare the snot out of Canadians?

OK, well, if anybody knows, what are the NDP thinking? Conservatives plus Quebecois equals 151 seats, Trudeau's Liberals hold 159 seats, and no one else but the NDP can actually change the government by crossing the aisle, so if anyone could put a stop to this then it's them. What could they expect to gain from this?
